Good early morning everyone! Well, it seems so much earlier than usual. We got home pretty late last night. The roads weren't that bad but the visibility wasn't great. The snow and rain kept us from going too fast. And then it got dark. And then it started to rain and snow again while it was dark and we had to go pretty slow again because it was hard to see when the snow is blowing toward you. But we made it home safe and sound and went right to bed. Now it is time to start another week. And Nick is going really slow this morning. Some of his soccer buddies get to stay home from school and sleep in. So he is mad at us. Yes, we are mean. The price you pay to play sports...
Anyway, on to the card. Today's card was inspired by one I saw in the recent issue of PaperCrafts Magazine. I used this card for this month's shoebox swap. It's a truly super easy card and I love how it came out! My card base is Sahara Sand and I stamped the splatter stamp from Extreme Elements in Sahara Sand. Then I took a strip of Sahara Sand and rounded the top by using the 1 3/4" circle punch. I stamped the greeting from Happiest Birthday Wishes in black StazOn and flagged the bottom. I sponged the edges with Sahara Sand ink and added a jumbo eyelet to the top. This is popped up onto the card. Then I stamped the car from Need for Speed in black StazOn onto Whisper White card stock and colored it in with the Poppy Parade marker. I cut it out and adhered it to the tag while popping the back end up. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning everyone! I hope your week is off to a great start! My morning seems to have started with a headache. Ugh! I hate it when that happens! My sinuses are really bad right now. With the wind and all the dust and pollen in the air, I don't stand a chance! And poor Nick with his allergies! So far he seems to be holding his own. I hope that keeps up!
Today's card was inspired by a sketch at Retro Sketches. I thought this sketch was really fun! And one that could be used in so many ways!! I will definitely be trying this one again! I started with a card base of Crumb Cake and then added my circle elements in Basic Black and Lucky Limeade. I used the 1 1/4", 1" and 3/4" circle punches. Then I took another piece of Crumb Cake and rounded all four corners with the corner rounder. I stamped the splatter from Extreme Elements in Crumb Cake and sponged the edges in Crumb Cake, too. I stamped the ATV from Need for Speed in black StazOn and then stamped it again on a scrap piece of Crumb Cake. I added some highlights with the Lucky Limeade marker and cut it out. This one is popped up right over the other one and the panel is popped up onto the card. Then I took a strip of Lucky Limeade designer paper and stamped the greeting from Happiest Birthday Wishes in black StazOn. Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! I am up earlier than I want to be - ugh! I seem to be getting a migraine. So I am trying to nurse it before it gets too bad. Hard to sleep anyway because of the pain. So I took some pills and now I am drinking some coffee and hope it will subside soon. I did get some stamping done yesterday. Not much but some. So I will be trying to get a little more done today.
Today's card was inspired by one I saw in a PaperCrafts magazine. I think this issue was an older one but the card still caught my eye. It was simple and masculine. My card base is Poppy Parade and I stamped the splatter from Extreme Elements onto it in Poppy Parade. Then I took two strips of Basic Black and ran them through the Big Shot with the Tasteful Trim die. I adhered these to the back of a strip of Whisper White. On that I stamped the greeting from Happiest Birthday Wishes in black StazOn. I added two silver brads before adhering to the card base. On a scrap of Whisper White I stamped the car from Need for Speed in black StazOn and used the Poppy Parade marker to outline the car. I cut it out and popped it up onto the card. Done! Good morning everyone! I hope your week is off to a great start! Nick had a soccer scrimmage last night. They did really great! I think that they are ready for the season to officially start! Then the weather turned cold and windy. It rained a little last night and is supposed to again today. I hope so. We really need the moisture! I did get some stamping done yesterday but the pictures I took did not come out good at all! I even took them outside before the weather turned bad. So frustrating! I am going to try again today to see what I can do.
Today's card was inspired by one I saw on Pintrest. It is very simple and I know my son would love it! He loves green and he is at the age of loving all things fast - lol! I took a piece of Whisper White and stamped the splatter from Extreme Elements in Lucky Limeade. Then I stamped the car from Need for Speed in black StazOn. I also stamped the car on a scrap piece of Whisper White and cut it out. I used the Lucky Limeade marker and gave it some color by highlighting some of the lines in the car. This was popped up onto the stamped car. Then I stamped the greeting from Happiest Birthday Wishes in black StazOn and added two black brads. Good Sunday morning everyone! It was sure great to sleep in this morning but I didn't really expect to sleep this long! I took a peek at the clock and just expected to sleep about a half hour longer and ended up sleeping two hours longer!! Yikes! Oh well! Now I don't have as much time before I have to get Nick to soccer practice. Looks to be a beautiful day today!
Today's card is one that I did for a recent swap I participated in. My card base is Soft Suede with a piece of Pool Party glued down. Then I took a piece of Whisper White and rounded the bottom corners. I took a piece of the Attic Boutique designer paper and scalloped one end and corner rounded the other. I glued this to the Whisper White piece and then wrapped a piece of Pool Party seam binding ribbon around it before popping it up on the card. On a scrap piece of Whisper White I stamped the flower from Mixed Bunch in Pool Party and punched it out with the Blossom punch. I also stamped the flower center in Soft Suede and punched it out with the 3/4" circle punch. I put a brad through this and popped it up on the flower and the flower is popped up on the card. Then I took two strips of Whisper White and stamped the words on each in Soft Suede. The greeting is from the hostess set, Happiest Birthday Wishes. I flagged one end on each and glued them to the card by tucking them behind the flower. And there you have it! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning everyone! I am really glad that we are already at the middle of this week! It is a really cold morning here and I can feel a sort of head cold coming on. Ugh! I do hope that finds its way out, and soon! I have a lot that I want to do this week and I hope that I can find the time to do it all!
Today's card is one that I made for a young man serving in our military. His mom is a good friend of mine and she asked me (and some others) to make a birthday card for her son who is serving overseas. She told me that her son has spent seven of his last eleven birthdays serving overseas. WOW! I have met him once and from what my friend, Kim, tells me, he is very serious about what he does! He absolutely loves what he does and works very hard. So I considered it an honor to send him a birthday card. His birthday is next week but I wanted to make sure he got it in plenty of time. I took a piece of Crumb Cake and ran it through the Big Shot with the stripes embossing folder and the sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink. I attached this to a piece of Riding Hood Red and popped it up on a card base of Crumb Cake. I ran a piece of Not Quite Navy through the Big Shot with the stars die. I attached the largest star to the card and then took a smaller start, but a silver brad in it and then popped it p on the card. Then I took a strip of Crumb Cake and stamped the greeting from Happiest Birthday Wishes in Early Espresso. I flagged one end and then sponged the edges with Crumb Cake. My card starts off with a card base of Whisper White. Then I cut down another piece of Whisper White and adhered it to piece of Pear Pizzazz and popped it up onto the card base. Then I attached a piece of designer paper from the Twitterpated designer paper pack with one end flagged. Then I used Labels framelits die and cut a label from Whisper White card stock. I stamped the image from Bordering on Romance in black StazOn inside the label and then again on a scrap piece of Whisper White. I watercolored both images with an aqua painter and Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Riding Hood Red and Island Indigo ink pads. I cut out the cluster of three flowers from the scrap piece and popped them up on the stamped image on the label. The label is then popped up on the card. I added three pearls to the flower centers. Then I stamped the greeting from Happiest Birthday Wishes in black StazOn on a strip of Whisper White and flagged one end. This is glued to the label.

Once again, I went in a masculine direction. I really like the images in the Need for Speed stamp set. And this sketch is really awesome! I actually made a different card with this sketch but I wanted to do something a little different. So this is what came out! I started out with a Not Quite Navy card base and then cut another piece of Not Quite Navy card stock and layered a piece of designer paper from the Neutrals paper stack. On top of that is a piece of Cajun Craze that was run through the Big Shot with the Houndstooth embossing folder. Then I added a strip Early Espresso that was die cut with the Tasteful Trim die. Two 5/16" silver brads were added and then the whole panel was glued to the card front. For my focal point I die cut a piece of River Rock card stock with the Perfect Pennants die and stamped the words from Happiest Birthday Wishes in Early Espresso. On a scrap piece of River Rock I stamped the car in Early Espresso and then added some highlights with the River Rock marker and cut it out. The pennant and the card are popped up on the card.

Good morning everyone! Here we are with another Monday! This will be the last full week of summer for students around this area. Tomorrow we will register him for Middle School! Not sure what that all means but I do know that they will be taking my money - lol! My guys made it back safely from their camping/fishing trip and it sounds like they had tons of fun! Nick took his unicycle up there and was riding it through the woods. Pat took video of it and boy, he is really good at riding that thing! He was riding over rocks and tree roots and down the hill then back up. He loves that thing! And I am glad!
Today's card is one that I put together really quick one day. I found a similar card in a magazine and thought that it was cute with the different layers and all. Good morning everyone! It's time to get busy with another great challenge from Create with Connie and Mary! This week they are challenging us with a fantastic sketch! Take a look:
Isn't it great?! So many possibilities but here is what I came up with:
Since my husband's birthday is coming up, I realized that I really don't make many masculine cards. And my son is getting older (he is too old for the cutesy look, anyway), so I thought I would go in a different direction than flowers and bows. I really do like the way it turned out, too! I started out with a card base of Crumb Cake. On that I used a stamp from the Extreme Elements set and stamped it in Crumb Cake and then sponged around the card with Crumb Cake ink. For the circles I took a piece of Crumb Cake and ran it through the Big Shot using my 3" circle die and to make the Basic Black circle I used my circle scissors plus. I stamped on the Crumb Cake circle with the Extreme Elements set in Crumb Cake ink and then sponged with Crumb Cake. Then I stamped my birthday greeting from Happiest Birthday Wishes in black StazOn. This circle was then glued to the black one. Now you really can't tell from the photo, but I took my piercing tool and pierced holes along the edge of the Basic Black circle and then used my distressing tool and distressed the edges. Before the circles were glued to the card I added two black brads. To the top of the card I glued a strip of designer paper from the Neutrals paper stack. Then I took a strip of Basic Black card stock and ran it through the Big Shot using the Tasteful Trim die and glued that right on the edge of the designer paper. The last thing I did was to stamp the ATV from the Need for Speed stamp set on Crumb Cake card stock in black StazOn. I did add some highlights with the Crumb Cake marker. This is popped up on the card!

Good morning everyone! Are you all ready for a super weekend? Got any great weekend plans? Be sure to enjoy the last two days of July! I can't believe it is over! And now things are going to start getting busy for us in the sports world. Nick starts his regular soccer practice next week in the evenings and he wanted to do a goalie camp next week, too and that will be in the mornings so he will be one busy boy!! But it will be good for him! And I know that he and his dad want to get another camping/fishing trip in before school starts.

It's a little different. My son wanted me to get this set, Need for Speed. Imagine that! And since Stampin' Up! retired the Extreme Dirt Bike, I don't use it as much anymore (which was his favorite stamp, by the way). So I needed a current one. It can be hard to find stamps that appeal to a "tween". Anyway, I got the set and I need to find ways to use it. I thought this sketch was perfect! I got the color combination from the Color Coach and I kind of like the way it all turned out!

Good morning everyone! Everyone is back from convention and so Connie and Mary are moving on to another challenge this week! This week Create with Connie and Mary are challenging us with a color challenge! Take a look at these beautiful colors!
The challenge colors are Regal Rose, Marina Mist, and Sahara Sand. I do have to confess that Regal Rose is one of my least favorite colors. I have so much trouble putting it with other colors. It can be so bright and "in-your-face". But these colors are so pretty! So here is what I came up with!
This idea and layout comes from the new catalog! It's on page 112. I love the way the card used the Build a Blossom stamp set and the coordinating Blossom Petals builder punch. Although, the center of each petal is cut by hand. I started with a card base of textured Sahara Sand card stock, then a piece of Sahara Sand designer paper, then a piece of Marina Mist card stock. To make my flower, I stamped the petals on Whisper White card stock in Regal Rose ink (stamping off first) and then punched them out using the Blossom Petals builder punch. I glued these to a 1/2" circle to make it easier to keep them together. Then I stamped the petal centers on Whisper White card stock using Regal Rose ink. I cut these out and used glue dots to glue them to the petals. Then I put an antique brad in the center. The flower is popped up on the card. The last thing I did was to stamp the greeting in Sahara Sand on Whisper White card stock and pop it up on the card, too. Done! I really like the way this one turned out!

Another great sketch with lots of possibilities! Of course, when I saw the circle image, I knew that I wanted to do something with the doilies! Here is what I came up with:
So I ended up not using the Delicate Doilies stamp set but I did use the Flirtatious paper! Isn't it cool?! The Flirtatious paper has two sheets of these doilies and one side of one sheet is Melon Mambo and the other sheet has one side of Pumpkin Pie. But the other side of both sheets is Whisper White! So that is what I went with. I carefully cut apart the doily and it is popped up on the Elegant Eggplant panel. Behind the Eggplant panel is a piece of the Flirtatious designer paper peeking out. This is glued onto a piece of Wisteria Wonder that has a piece of Whisper White organza ribbon tied around it. And then glued down to the Elegant Eggplant card base. My focal point is finished off with a stamp from Happiest Birthday Wishes stamped in Elegant Eggplant onto Wisteria Wonder and then punched out with the scallop circle punch. This is popped up on the doily and then I added two little pearls. And there you have it!

Good morning, Friends! I am typing this from my hotel room. Soon we will be up and at 'em to drive another six hours to my parents house. Nothing exciting but Nick is excited to get there! It has been two years since we have been there for the Fourth of July. I was able to get a lot of stamping done before we left so I could post cards while I was gone. And I used a lot of new product! I did pack some stamping stuff to take to my parents, so we will see if I can create anything this week.
