Color Throwdown 302

Good morning everyone! I hope your week is off to a great start! I can't believe that this is the last week of July! School starts Monday and I need to get myself ready to start waking up early to get my son ready for school! My interview yesterday went great! They even contacted my references afterwards! Since the job is working in a school they want to get someone for the first day so I should be hearing from them in the next couple of days. We will see!! And it finally rained last night! Ahhh! Blessed rain! Looks like it could do more today, too.

Today's card was inspired by the colors at Color Throwdown. Such pretty bright colors! I am too late to enter their challenge but I just had to use them anyway!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Adhere another piece of Whisper White to card base with dimensionals
  • Run a piece of Bermuda Bay through the Big Shot using the Large Polka Dots embossing folder then adhere to card
  • Stamp the greeting from Something to Say onto a strip of Daffodil Delight using Rich Razzleberry ink and flag the end then adhere to card
  • Stamp the flower image from Beautiful Bunch using Rich Razzleberry ink once onto Whisper White card stock and once onto Rich Razzleberry card stock
  • Punch both flowers out using the Fun Flower punch
  • Adhere flowers together using dimensionals just in the center part of the flower then adhere flowers to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the flower again onto Whisper White using Daffodil Delight ink and cut out just the center and adhere to flower on card
  • Add three rhinestones to flower center
Loving my new stamp set! The punch makes it really easy to use, too! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Color Throwdown 301

Good morning, Friends! I hope you have a had a great week! I feel like it went by pretty fast! I am looking forward to a nice weekend. It will be hot outside but I plan to do some indoor work like stamping and sewing!! I have a massage today and I am hoping that she will help the sore muscles in my injured arm. Nick can sleep in. He is pretty tired and sore from his week at soccer camp. I'm glad! It's getting him good and ready for high school (did I just say that???)!

Today's card was inspired by the colors at Color Throwdown. I was trying something different. And different is what it is!

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • Stamp the splatter images from Gorgeous Grunge onto he card base using Smoky Slate, Soft Sky and Calypso Coral (I stamped off before stamping the Calypso Coral onto the card)
  • Use the Hexagon Hive thinlit to cut the the little hexagons from Crumb Cake
  • Sponged the edges of each hexagon shape using Crumb Cake ink then adhere to card base (don't adhere the one with the flower yet)
  • Stamp the greeting from Honeycomb Hello onto a strip of Whisper White using Smoky Slate and flag the end then adhere to the back of the hexagon shape
  • Adhere hexagon shape to card with dimensionals
  • Punch a flower from Soft Sky using the itty bitty accents punch pack and adhere to card

CCMC 303

Hello everyone! I hope you're ready to have some fun with this week's challenge from Create with Connie and Mary! This week we have a fun sketch challenge! Take a look!

I do have to confess that this super simple sketch had me stumped! I love the idea of the flower but really didn't have one that would work. So I played around until I came up with this:

This card is super simple as well and works for this sketch! I also used the colors from last week's Color Throwdown - Old Olive, Night of Navy and Bermuda Bay. Here are the details:

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • On a piece of Whisper White stamp the dots image from Perfect Pennants in Old Olive
  • Adhere stamped panel to another piece of Whisper White and then adhere to card base with dimensionals
  • Stamp the banner onto a piece of Whisper White using Bermuda Bay ink and cut out using the Banners framelits dies then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Punch a flower from Night of Navy card stock using the itty bitty shapes punch pack and adhere to banner
  • Add a rhinestone
Be sure to see the fabulous work from the rest of the design team at the Create with Connie and Mary website! I hope you will play along with us this week! We always love to see what you do with our challenges! Have a super day!

Color Throwdown 280

Good morning, Friends! The week seems to be flying by! And I am glad we are on the downhill side - lol! I have been busy stamping each day but I am trying to get ahead on some design commitments and I need to work on a swap and more cards for my blog. So I think that I will try to focus on that today. We will see… lol! Maybe I can do a little bit of it all? I must be ADD as I can't ever seem to concentrate on one thing at a time. I really do bounce around!! It will all get done and this is why I start on projects ahead of time. Otherwise it can be stressful!

Today's card was inspired by the colors from the Color Throwdown challenge a few weeks ago. I really liked them (and still do) and pulled out a set that I haven't used in a while. Love how it came together and how it is more masculine!

  • Card base is Soft Sky
  • Adhere a panel of Night of Navy to card base and then adhere a strip of Old Olive
  • On a panel of Very Vanilla, stamp the plant image from By the Tide in Old Olive
  • Stamp the lines and splatters from Gorgeous Grunge in Soft Sky then sponge the edges in Soft Sky
  • Stamp the sentiment from Sweet Essentials in Night of Navy and add two mini brads then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the fish image onto a piece of Very Vanilla with Night of Navy ink and cut out
  • Adhere fish to card with dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
