Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a fantastic start! I had stamp club with a great group of ladies last night. It ended up being our last meeting together and most decided to take some time off. So we will dis-band for now, but I do hope we will get together real soon! I do want to thank every one of them for being so great to work with!! I had so much fun! Last night while I was doing my Stampin' Up! thing, my son's soccer team was playing a scrimmage against an older team. They did lose, but Nick got to play in goal and it sounds like he did a pretty fantastic job in goal (being his first time)! I can't wait to see him do it in a real game!! It seems that he even stopped a penalty kick! Way to go Nick!!

Today's card is one that I did for my stamp club last night. I used Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch for this one. The color inspiration came from the Color Coach. I wanted to use some product from the Summer mini catalog to remind everyone that it ends this month!! TGIF everyone! It's time for another sketch challenge at Sketch Frenzy Friday! This week's sketch comes from Jennifer Weide! And what a wonderful sketch it is! I had a lot of fun with this one! Take a look:

And here is what I came up with:

I just love clean and simple sketches like this one! So versatile and so many possibilities! I finally decided to pull out the Bold Blossoms set. I have loved this set so dearly. And it works beautifully with the new Blossoms Bouquet triple layer punch! So I started with a card base of a new In Color, Island Indigo. Then I put a piece of Daffodil Delight that I ran through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. For the focal point I stamped the stems from Bold Blossoms in another new In Color, Lucky Limeade and then layered the Whisper White onto a piece of Lucky Limeade and then popped this up onto the card. Then I used the Blossoms Bouquet triple layer punch to punch layer one in Island Indigo and layer three in Daffodil Delight. The two layers are glued together and a 5/16" white brad is in the middle. Then I popped the flowers up on the stems. The last thing I did was to stamp the greeting in the lower right hand corner in Island Indigo. I am really liking these colors together!

Good Thursday morning! Man the week is going way to fast for me! I have enjoyed having my family out for the week and they will be leaving all too soon! Create with Connie and Mary have another awesome challenge for us this week! It's a sketch challenge! I do love their sketches!! Here is the sketch:

And here is what I came up with:

This is a 4 1/4" square card. And I do have to say that I love it! This card just makes me happy when I look at it. And the best part is, it was SO easy! I can see lots of uses for this sketch! I started with a card base of Crumb Cake. Then I cut another piece of Crumb Cake and added the Real Red strips to it. I ran this piece through the Big Shot with the square lattice embossing folder. Then I took a piece of Very Vanilla and stamped the steam from Bold Blossoms in Old Olive. Then I decided to use my Bouquet Blossoms triple layer punch and punched layer two from Marina Mist and layer three from Bashful Blue. I glued these two layers together and then onto the card. Then I stamped the small flower in Real Red on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla and punched it out with the 1/2" circle punch. This is glued to the center of the punched flower. Then I inked the "thank you" in Marina Mist and stamped it to the panel. This gets glued to a piece of Marina Mist and then popped up onto the square lattice piece. I wrapped a piece of Marina Mist narrow taffeta ribbon around this and then glued it to my card base. My final touch was to add a rhinestone to the middle of the flower. And there you have it!

Good morning, Friends! Are you ready for a great weekend? It has literally rained every day this week! Yikes!! But the sun is supposed to shine today and that's a good thing because there is a huge soccer tournament here in town this weekend! In fact, I have pre-posted this because Nick's first game is early!

Before I get to my card I wanted to share the links and instructions to the faux leather wallet that I made for the Control Freaks blog tour. I have been getting quite a few questions and wanted to get them all answered! So here you go! First of all you can find basic instructions for a kind of wallet here. These instructions also tell you one way to make it look like faux leather. I did mine a little different. I covered my wallet with VersaMark ink and then poured clear embossing powder over that. Then I took my bone folder and "drew" lines in the embossing powder before I heated it. The instructions for the wallet I made comes from Lorri Heiling and can be found here. I hope this helps everyone!

Mother's Day Blossoms

Good morning, Friends! I am so excited about the weekend being here! It looks to be another fabulous one! Last weekend we were in Durango for a soccer tournament and it was fabulous! The weather was perfect! And the boys didn't do too bad. We got home and the first two days of the week were cold and wet! Now it is warming up once again!

This is the card I sent to my mother-in-law and my mom. I love how this Bold Blossom set is so easy to use!! And the new triple layer blossom bouquet punch goes perfectly with it! Good morning everyone! I hope your week is going by just super! Nick is super excited that today is early release at school and that he has tomorrow and Friday off. It is Parent/Teacher conference time around here so that is why. I get to meet with his teacher tomorrow. The last one before he heads off to middle school! I hope to get some stamping done. We will see.

I finally had a chance to sit and do a sketch from Mary Jo. I haven't done one in a while and I was glad to get back into it! Here is the sketch she has for us this week:

Great, huh!!! And here is what I came up with:

Too fun! I had fun making this card! I am loving these new triple layer punches!! My card base is Pear Pizzazz and my strips are Pear Pizzazz that I sponged with Pear Pizzazz ink. I layered the strips onto another piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice embossing folder. Then I wrapped a piece of Poppy Parade ribbon around that and glued it to my card. I used the Bold Blossom set and stamped the flower stems in Pear Pizzazz onto Whisper White cardstock at different heights and then inked just the 'thank you' part in Poppy Parade. This piece is glued down flat. Then I punched three flowers with my new Blossom Bouquet triple layer punch - layer two with So Saffron and layer three with Poppy Parade. I put a So Saffron flower brad in each one and popped them up on my card. The last touches were to add a little white baker's twine and a rhinestone in the centers of the flower brads.

A fun sketch with lots of possibilities! And here's what I came up with:

I just got this stamp set and new punch (punch to be in the upcoming Summer mini catalog)! I had to use it!! I started with a card base of Old Olive. Then I cut down a piece of Whisper White. The Whisper White has the stem of Bold Blossom stamped in Old Olive and the greeting from the same set stamped in Poppy Parade. Then I wrapped a piece of Poppy Parade ribbon around it and tied some white baker's twine onto it. I stamped the butterfly from the same set in the corner in Old Olive and cut down the corner of the Whisper White piece so that the butterfly shows. Then the Whisper White panel gets glued down. Then I took my new Blossom Bouquet triple layer punch and punched layers two and three in Poppy Parade and layer one in Tangerine Tango. I glued layer one and two together and then onto the card. Layer three of the punch got popped up. I finished it off with an itty bitty button to which I added a sliver of Basic Black cardstock. And there you have it! This was a really fun card to put together!

Diva Sketch Challenge 127

Good morning, Friends! I can't believe how fast this week seems to be going! Although, I keep thinking that I am one day ahead than we really are. I had to remind myself this morning that it was only Wednesday. That is a nice feeling. It has been a very nice spring break so far and I know that Nick is enjoying every minute of it!

Today's card was inspired by the Utah Divas International Diva Sketch Challenge (don't try saying that ten times fast - lol). Their blog is filled with all kinds of wonderful challenges. This sketch was a very simple one. I had actually made the flower a few weeks ago. I was in my stamp room and I wanted to try out this stamp set and coordinating punch. I bought these but hadn't really used them. So, I made up this flower and then didn't know what to do with it. Then, yesterday, I came across this sketch and thought that the two would go together perfectly! And here is the result! The flower comes out really big! Bigger than I ever would have thought! So that's what had me stumped after making it. Anyway, it was fun and I am glad I finally had a home for my flower - lol! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
