CCMC Saturday Blog Hop: Celebrations Edition Week 2

Hello everyone! And welcome to Week 2 of the Create with Connie and Mary Cards "Create"tions Celebration blog hop! We have just finished week 2 and we end each week with a fun blog hop featuring the stamp sets that we used during the week! I am your stop after the fabulous Debbie Henderson!

This week I used the Snuggles & Smooches stamp set! This is such a fun and versatile set! I decided to create a candle centerpiece. I haven't done a stamped candle in so long I had almost forgotten how to do it - lol! I did forget how much fun this was to do! And it is really very easy!

  • Stamp a piece of white tissue paper using the large and small scribble images using Crisp Cantaloupe and Bermuda Bay inks and then stamp the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge using Baked Brown Sugar
  • Use a piece of waxed paper and the heat gun to melt the tissue paper into the candle (the tissue paper was used to hold the tissue paper in place)
  • Stamp the large and small scribbles onto a piece of Whisper White using Tuxedo black Momento ink
  • Use a Crisp Cantaloupe marker to trace the lines of the larger scribble image and cut out then use a Bermuda Bay marker to trace the lines of the smaller scribble image and cut out
  • Use the large oval punch to punch three ovals from Pistachio Pudding card stock
  • Adhere the leaves to the back of the flowers
  • Adhere the smaller flower to the larger flower using dimensionals
  • Adhere a strip of Bermuda Bay sequins to the back of the flowers and then adhere the flowers to the candle with dimensionals
  • Tie a knot using Basic Black 1/8" taffeta ribbon and adhere to a basic metal button then adhere the button to the flower center
Now it's time to send you on to see what fabulous creation Connie Babbert has come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

PCCCS 127

Good morning, Friends! It is really foggy around here this morning! My son and husband left just a little while ago for Kansas! Yep! The whole house to myself! Woohoo!! I have a shorter day at school today and was hoping to come home and start the fun but I have to go to the DMV. UGH!!! My driver's license expires on my birthday (which is Friday) so I had better take care of that today. Not looking forward to that but it has to be done. I hope that my family has good roads all day today!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Paper Craft Crew Challenges! I was really inspired by Justin's card! WOW! I wanted to copy that one but decided to take it in a different direction. I am loving this Snuggles & Smooches set! I kept my card very simple!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • I stamped the squiggle circle from Snuggles & Smooches onto the card base using Crisp Cantaloupe ink
  • Punch a banner from a piece of Stacked with Love designer paper using the Bitty Banner punch and adhere to the back of a strip of another piece of Stacked with Love designer paper then adhere to card
  • Stamp the sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White using Calypso Coral ink and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the heart image onto Whisper White using Real Red ink and cut out then adhere to card
  • Add a variety of rhinestones to card
Super simple but so much fun! Preview Week is going on at Create with Connie and Mary! Debbie is sharing a fantastic card with you all! Be sure to stop by and see what the fun is all about! While you are there, take advantage of the early bird pricing on the Spring Collection! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Creative Blog Hop

Hello everyone! Today I am participating in a Creative Blog Hop! I was nominated by Margaret Raburn to share a project and answer some questions about my creative process. Then I nominate two more people to share projects next week!

First off, my card! I am using the Snuggles & Smooches stamp set. This is such an adorable set! My upline sent this set to me and I am loving it! Thanks, Janet!!

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • Adhere a piece of Stacked with Love designer paper to a piece of Crumb Cake
  • Tie a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe thick baker's twine around the panel
  • Stamp the sentiment onto the panel using Real Red ink
  • Adhere panel to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the heart image onto a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe using Calypso Coral ink and again onto Calypso Coral card stock using Real Red ink and cut both out
  • Adhere hearts to card with dimensionals
  • Add rhinestones
Now for my questions...
  1. What are you working on now? Right now I am working on projects for the upcoming Create with Connie and Mary Spring Collection! I also work on getting cards created for the Create with Connie and Mary design team! I am so blessed to be a part of this design team! Such wonderful and talented ladies! In between all of that I like to play with all the new goodies and make cards to share on my blog!
  2. How does your work differ from others in your genre? Well... I love the clean and simple look! I think that a lot of people love that look as well. We are all different and it is fun to see what others can create with the same stamps, ink and paper. I don't know how different I am but that's what I like!
  3. Why do you create what you do? I love to create cards! Cards are great to have on hand to send out or hand out or give to others to use. I usually am creating to fulfill design commitments and swaps and I love that!
  4. How does your creative process work? I don't know if I have a creative process - lol! I love to surf the internet for sketches. I think that sketches give me the most inspiration. I also enjoy looking at Pinterest. I find a lot of ideas from there. Most of my color inspiration comes from challenges or the designer paper that Stampin' Up! sells.
The fun continues next week with two other people. I am waiting to hear back from them to be sure that they are in. I will post their blog address before next week to let you know how you can continue along the hop! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Cardabilities 114

Good morning everyone! I hope your weekend is going super! Ours is going way too fast! Thankfully we have tomorrow off and then it's back to school! Ugh! But what a great vacation we have had! I guess it will be nice to get back to a routine. So I didn't get any of the things done yesterday that I thought I would. I did get some other things accomplished which is good. But today I must do the laundry and get some stamping done!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Cardabilities. When I saw the sketch I thought this set would work perfectly!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Stamp the squiggles image from the Snuggles & Smooches set onto the card base using Crisp Cantaloupe ink
  • Adhere a strip of Stacked with Love washi tape to the card
  • Stamp the heart image onto a piece of Whisper White using Real Red ink and cut out
  • Stamp the "my silly" part onto the heart with Tuxedo black Momento ink
  • I separated the fibers from a piece of white baker's twine and used that to loop on the back of the heart and adhered it with dimensionals to the card
  • Stamp the "valentine" part onto a piece of Whisper White using Tuxedo black Momento ink and cut out then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Add a rhinestone to the heart
Just a fun valentine! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Mojo 378

Good morning everyone! I'm looking forward to a lazy Saturday! Watching football, doing laundry and doing a little stamping! And maybe if it warms up, I will try and go for a walk? We will see... We got all the decorations put away and the lights from the house taken down so that feels good! Now if the cleaning fairy would come and do some deep cleaning...

Today's card was inspired by the Mojo Monday sketch. My upline, Jan Wakeland, sent me this stamp set! I must admit that I didn't even know that Stampin' Up! had come out with this set. It's called Snuggles & Smooches and is SO cute! I am having fun coming up with ideas using this cute set! Thank you, Janet Wakeland!!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Flag the ends of two pieces of Stacked with Love designer paper and adhere them to the card
  • Adhere a piece of Basic Black card stock
  • Stamp the sentiment image from Snuggles & Smooches onto a piece of Whisper White using Crisp Cantaloupe ink and cut out
  • Use the Circles framelits to cut a circle from Basic Black card stock then adhere stamped image to black circle
  • Use the Starburst framelits to cut a starburst from Calypso Coral card stock
  • Use the Essentials paper piercing pack to pierce a circle just inside the starburst
  • Adhere starburst to card with dimensionals
  • Adhere stamped image to starburst using dimensionals
  • Stamp the little heart image onto Whisper White using Real Red ink and cut out then adhere to card
  • Add a rhinestone to little heart
Lots of fun layers! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
