CCMC 302

Good morning, Friends! It's that time again! The Thursday challenge from Create with Connie and Mary! This week we have some bright, fun and beautiful colors to play with! Check them out!

Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay! What lovely and lively colors! And yes, I did think about doing something with flowers but this is what I did instead...

I had fun making this card! And it was pretty easy with the use of the coordinating triangle punch! I even made this card for a recent swap I was in! Here are the details:

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Run a piece of Daffodil Delight through the Big Shot with the Arrows embossing folder and then adhere to a piece of Bermuda Bay and then adhere to card base
  • Stamp the greeting from Geometrical in black StazOn onto a strip of Whisper White and flag the end
  • Use the Tasteful Trim die to cut the scallops from Calypso Coral and adhere to back side of stamped strip then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the triangle images in Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight onto Whisper White and punch out with the triangle punch
  • Adhere triangles together with glue dots and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Add rhinestones
Something fun and a little different! Find more great inspiration at the Create with Connie and Mary website! I hope you will play along with us this week! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

FMS 124

Good morning, Friends! It's Friday!! Woohoo!! I took some alka-seltzer last night to try to kick this head cold in the butt. And now I think it is trying to kick my butt this morning. Boy am I all plugged up!! Yuck! I slept in a little to try to sleep off the medicine. Still groggy but I hope a shower and coffee will get it out of my system. No time to rest this weekend! Nick has a basketball tournament. He has a game tonight and tomorrow morning - early. Should be fun!!

Today's card was created some time ago using the sketch from Freshly Made. Not my favorite but I thought I would post it anyway. It is very simple!!

  • Card base is So Saffron
  • Layer three strips of the Retro Fresh designer paper onto a piece of Baked Brown Sugar and then adhere to card
  • Use the Chevron punch to punch the chevrons from Tangerine Tango
  • Adhere the chevrons to the card
  • Stamp the sentiment from Geometrical onto a strip of Very Vanilla using Baked Brown Sugar and flag the end
  • Add three mini brads to other end and adhere to card with dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

PCCCS 78

Good morning, Friends! I hope you had a fantastic weekend and are ready for a new week! Seems like those weekends just fly by! The boys lost their soccer game yesterday. And that was a real bummer! It means that we won't be in the State Cup tournament. :( I know the boys really wanted to win. I guess they will have to try it again next year. So now we just play the games for the season and hope that we win our division and can move up to the next level. And so our busy soccer season begins! The weather yesterday felt like summer almost! Wow! We were really hot and I didn't dress accordingly. I finally took off my shoes to help cool down a bit. I got sunburned on my feet - lol!! It felt so good! But now it is supposed to snow again on Tuesday (in Denver, rain in our area). Yep! It's that crazy spring weather!!

Today's card was one that I had made quite a while ago. It was inspired by the sketch at Paper Craft Crew Challenges

  • Card base is Baked Brown Sugar
  • A layer of Baked Brown Sugar was run through the Big Shot using the Arrows embossing folder then adhered to the card with dimensionals
  • Run a piece of Very Vanilla and a piece of Retro Fresh designer paper through the Big Shot at the same time using the Banners framelits and adhere together (the Very Vanilla helps add stability to the designer paper)
  • Add three mini brads to banner then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp greeting from Geometrical in Coastal Cabana onto Very Vanilla and flag the ends then adhere to card
  • Punch a circle from So Saffron with the 1/2" circle punch and adhere to card
  • Stamp the arrow from Geometrical in Tangerine Tango onto Very Vanilla and cut out then adhere to card
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! Create with Connie and Mary have another fun Thursday challenge for us all! This week they have provided us with a sketch.

Love this clean and simple layout! So many possibilities and one that will be used again for sure! Here's how I use it!

Flowers seemed like and easy way to use this sketch so I tried to challenge myself to go a different direction. And I think I like what evolved!

  • Card base is Tangerine Tango
  • On a piece of Very Vanilla stamp the greeting from Geometrical using Tangerine Tango and Baked Brown Sugar markers
  • Adhere a strip of Retro Fresh designer paper that was cut at the end
  • Adhere the panel to a piece of Baked Brown Sugar and then adhere to card base with dimensionals
  • Stamp the triangle images onto Very Vanilla with Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar and punch out with the triangle punch then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the arrow image onto Very Vanilla with So Saffron and cut out then adhere to card
  • Add two So Saffron candy dots
Be sure to visit Create with Connie and Mary to see what the other designers did with this sketch! I hope you play along with us this week! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Freshly Made 123

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week has started off super! We are having the most gorgeous days! I love it! I can open the windows and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine as I stamp during the day! We are supposed to get some rain today and later this week but that makes it feel even more like spring! It definitely is coming! Nick has officially started soccer practices and our first game over the mountains is Sunday. I do hope that the weather in the mountains holds up so that we will have decent roads!

Today's card was inspired by a sketch at Freshly Made. It was a few week's ago and I thought it would be fun to use my Geometrical set.

  • Card base is Baked Brown Sugar
  • On a layer of Very Vanilla, stamp the greeting from Geometrical in Baked Brown Sugar
  • Adhere a piece of Retro Fresh washi tape to across the top and two brads under the greeting then adhere panel to card
  • Stamp the triangle images onto a piece of Very Vanilla with Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar, So Saffron and Tangerine Tango then punch out with the triangle punch
  • Adhere triangles to card with dimensionals
Super simple especially with the triangle punch! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

If they win then he has two more and if they lose then they are done. So we will see. I just want him to give it is all!! Then I have some stitching time with some very wonderful friends and then we will all have dinner! So excited!!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch from Try Stamping on Tuesday. It was from a few weeks ago but I wanted to try it with the Geometrical set and the washi tape. I love those triangles!!

  • Adhere a piece of Retro Fresh designer paper to card base

  • Stamp the triangles onto Very Vanilla with Coastal Cabana and Tangerine Tango ink then punch out with the triangle punch and adhere to card
  • Add three So Saffron candy dots
Pretty simple! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

TSSC 300

Good morning, Friends! I can't believe that this is the last week of February! What beautiful weather we have been having and it makes me think that spring has definitely arrived! I had the windows open for a while yesterday. But I have to admit that I didn't do much of anything yesterday. After I exercised I ended up on the couch watching basketball and then the closing ceremonies of the Olympics. So it was a nice relaxing day for me!! Looking for that motivation and energy to get something accomplished today - lol!

Today's card was one that I did with my stamp club this month. This card was inspired by the sketch from the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge

  • Card base is So Saffron
  • Cut a circle from Baked Brown Sugar with the 3" circle die then run through the Big Shot with the Arrows embossing folder
  • Stamp the greeting from Geometrical using the Tangerine Tango and Baked Brown Sugar markers onto Very Vanilla
  • Adhere stamped panel to a piece of Tangerine Tango
  • Use the bitty banner punch to punch three banners from Retro Fresh designer paper and adhere to back of stamped panel then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Adhere two So Saffron candy dots
Pretty simple! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Retro 101

Good morning, Friends! Looks like it will be a nice weekend around here! Nick has a soccer scrimmage this morning and then a basketball game this afternoon. Should be a fun day! And since I got the laundry done yesterday, I should be free to keep sewing on my quilt and get a few other things done! I can feel spring coming on!!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Retro Sketches. I really liked the layout and thought it would be very appropriate to use the Retro Fresh designer paper with the sketch! Because the lines on the designer paper were already at an angle, this really makes in look funky!! But I do like how it turned out!

  • Card base is Tangerine Tango
  • Cut a piece of Retro Fresh designer paper at an angle to fit onto the card base
  • Adhere designer paper to a strip of Coastal Cabana and then adhere to card base
  • Stamp the circle image from Geometrical onto the card base using Tangerine Tango ink
  • Stamp the greeting onto a strip of Very Vanilla using Baked Brown Sugar ink and flag the end
  • Adhere to card base with dimensionals
  • Add two Tangerine Tango candy dots
Pretty easy card! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
