CCMC 272

Good morning, Friends! It's time for another Thursday challenge with the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week we have a beautiful color challenge!

Such lovely colors! Rich Razzleberry, So Saffron and Bermuda Bay. Here's what I created!

I decided to go with a fall card using these colors. And I think it worked! We used to have a tree called a Purple Autumn Ash that would really turn purple in the fall! It was a beautiful tree!! That's what these razzleberry leaves remind me of. Here are the card details:

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • Layer of Whisper White with the leaves from Wonderfall stamped in So Saffron, Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry
  • Stamp some splotches using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in Crumb Cake then adhere panel to card
  • Stamp greeting from Perfectly Penned in VersaMark onto a piece of Bermuda Bay and emboss with white emboss powder
  • Flag bottom of panel and adhere to card
  • Cut a thin strip of Crumb Cake and adhere to banner then add three pearls
  • Stamp leave in Rich Razzleberry onto Whisper White and cut out then pop up onto card
Be sure to see what the other designers did with these colors! You can find their designs at the Create with Connie and Mary website. I hope that you will be inspired to play along!

Autumn Circle Flip Card

Good morning, Friends! I have been kind of lazy around here these last few days. I have been busy but not with a lot of stamping. Today I need to try and get back on track with that. I am actually working on Christmas presents! So my fingers have been doing a lot of hand sewing. And I think that I am going to have a good jump on those! I also took a sewing class and that got me distracted, too. So back to stamping today!!

Today's card was one I did for the shoebox club I am in. I wanted to use the new Circle Card Thinlit. These are quite fun!! Stampin' Up! has come out with two different flip card versions. This is the circle one and then there is a label one. Taking a picture of the card is quite interesting! Here is the card closed.

And then opened...

Fun, huh!! The card will fit inside a regular A2 envelope! Love that! And I was able to create an extra panel for more writing on the inside. I simply followed Patty Bennett's video on how to do this. Very simple! Here are the details:

  • Use Sahara Sand and the Circle Card Thinlit to create the card base
  • Stamp the splatters using the Gorgeous Grunge set and Chocolate Chip ink onto the Sweater Weather designer paper, adhere to a piece of Chocolate Chip card stock and then to the flap of the card
  • Adhere a strip of Sweater Weather designer paper to the front panel of the card
  • For the circles adhere a circle of Chocolate Chip that was cut with the Circles #2 die
  • Stamp the leaf from Wonderfall in Tangerine Tango onto a scallop circle that was cut using the scallop circle die in the Thinlits package and then stamp some splatters from Gorgeous Grunge in Chocolate Chip then adhere to the front circle
  • Stamp the same leaf in Tangerine Tango (stamp off once) onto another scallop circle and then stamp the greeting from Perfectly Penned in Chocolate Chip directly over that and adhere to back circle
  • Stamp the leaf again onto a scrap of Whisper White in Crushed Curry and add some splatters with the Gorgeous Grunge set and Chocolate Chip ink, cut out and pop up onto card
  • Tie some linen thread around a piece of Naturals Trim and add to card
These are so fun to make and I hope that you try one, too! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Wonderfall, Perfectly Penned, Gorgeous Grunge; Paper- Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Sweater Weather designer paper; Ink- Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry; Accessories- Circle Card Thinlits dies, Circles #2 die, 7/16" Naturals Trim, linen thread, dimensionals

Good Friday morning, Friends! I am here to bring you this week's challenge from the Sketch Frenzy Friday team! This week's sketch was created by Tammy Fite. Take a look!

Great sketch with a ton of possibilities! My brain had a hard time keep up with all my ideas that I finally settled on this.

Not exactly like I had envisioned but I did use some fun products! Here are the card details:

  • Card base is Baked Brown Sugar
  • Layer of Baked Brown Sugar that was run through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots TIEF then adhered to card
  • Layer of Etcetera designer paper that was punched along the bottom with the scallop edge border punch then stamped with an image from the Gorgeous Grunge set in Baked Brown Sugar and sponged with Baked Brown Sugar then adhered to card
  • Strip of Very Vanilla that was stamped with the sentiment from Perfectly Penned in Baked Brown Sugar, flagged both ends, sponged with Baked Brown Sugar and popped up onto card
  • The flower is made with the Simply Pressed clay and the Buttons and Blossoms molds then sponged with Calypso Coral and Baked Brown Sugar ink and adhered to card
  • Three pearls were added below the sentiment
There you have it! Be sure to stop by the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the other designers have done with this fabulous sketch! I hope to see your card uploaded to the blog, too! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Curry Flower

Good morning, Friends! I made it to the weekend! This weekend our town is hosting a Country Jam. In the 23 years that I have lived here, I have never been to Country Jam. I do like country music but not the crowds, heat and drunks. So I just try to stay away from all of that and before you know it, the festival is over and we return to our normal town! Well, this weekend, our soccer team was supposed to work the I.D. tent and there were not enough people to cover all the spots. So I got asked to help out. And being the nice person that I am :) I said yes. Thankfully we were under a nice shade tree and tent! We were away from most of the crowd and we only dealt with very few drunks. It was actually kind of fun! I had a lot of fun people watching. Wow! Very interesting people!! And today I get to spend the day stitching but tomorrow I look forward to just being lazy!!

Today's card was one that I did with my stamp club this month. I got the idea from the new catalog. I loved the layout and these colors are so fun and happy!! Here are the card details:

  • Card base is Whisper White with bottom corners rounded
  • Coastal Cabana layer with top corners rounded
  • Strip of Crushed Curry punched with dotted ribbon scallop punch and then adhered behind Coastal Cabana layer.
  • Stamp greeting from Perfectly Penned in Coastal Cabana and then pop up panel onto card
  • Strip of Pumpkin Pie designer paper from Polka Dot Parade pack, flag bottom and adhere to card
  • Stamp flower from Mixed Bunch in Crushed Curry onto Whisper White, punch out with Blossom punch and pop up onto card
  • Stamp flower center in Pumpkin Pie and punch out with 3/4" circle punch
  • Add a brad to flower center and pop up onto card
And there it is! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Mixed Bunch, Perfectly Penned; Paper- Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Polka Dot Parade designer paper; Ink- Crushed Curry, Coastal Cabana, Pumpkin Pie; Accessories- Blossom punch, 3/4" circle punch, dotted ribbon scallop punch, corner rounder, silver brad, dimensionals

Washi Shell

Good morning, Friends! I am so glad to be back with a card this morning! I apologize for the lack of posts but it has been crazy busy around here and I just have been inspired lately. So I took a break and I will probably take a few more breaks here and there as there are a few events that will be taking place around here that may take my attention away from stamping. The major one being a move. We are certain how soon that will happen but we are preparing now to hopefully be ready when it does happen. And then there are the various sports that my son participates in. That will be coming to an end in a few weeks. Not to mention all the other spring time stuff going on. Yesterday was the big final track meet! I sat in the sun for 6 hours!! I was so thankful for clouds that covered the sun but still managed to get quite a burn. Nick took 6th in high jump (he jumped his personal best), 3rd in long jump (which ended up being not his best), 1st in triple jump and 1st in 4 x 100 relay!! Not too bad for his first season of track! It was really fun to watch!! So now we are just back to soccer. Thanks to all of you who were worried about me :)

Today's card was an experiment. I have been really wanting to try out this new product from Stampin' Up! This product will be in the new catalog. It is Washi Tape. Washi Tape has been out for a while but it will now be available from Stampin' Up!, too! And it is really fun to use!! I am just having a hard time figuring out how to use it on cards. And which stamps it will look good with. So I went searching and this is what I came up with. You will also see me using it on the next few cards. I stamped the coral stamp from By the Tide in Crumb Cake onto a piece of Crumb Cake card stock. Then I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake. I cut an oval from a piece of Vellum using the Ovals Collection framelits dies and stamped the sentiment from Perfectly Penned in Basic Grey. I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake. I adhered it to the card using the Epic Day Washi Tape! There is a small piece at the top and three strips along the bottom. I tied some linen thread around this and added two silver brads. This panel is popped up onto a card base of Crumb Cake. Then I stamped the shell onto Crumb Cake using Calypso Coral ink. I cut this out and sponged a bit with Crumb Cake before popping it up onto the card. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 246

Good morning, Friends! It's Thursday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge! This week we are being challenged with color. Take a look at these fabulous colors!

Real Red, Calypso Coral, and Island Indigo are the colors to use this week! I never thought I would put Real Red with Calypso Coral but I like the way it really goes together! Check it out!

This is a very simple card but I thought it worked well for these challenge colors. I used the layout from Mama Elephant - a very simple layout and I love it! I layered a piece of Real Red onto a card base of Calypso Coral. Then on another piece of Calypso Coral I stamped the doilies from Delicate Doilies in Calypso Coral (I stamped off once before stamping onto the card stock). Then I ran a strip of Island Indigo through the Big Shot using the Argyle embossing folder. This is adhered to the side of the stamped panel. Then I stamped the greeting from Perfectly Penned in Real Red. I added three silver brads and popped the panel up onto the card. Then I punched a flower from Real Red using the itty bitty shapes punch pack. This is adhered to the card and a rhinestone was added to the flower center.

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to see what the other fabulous designers did with these beautiful colors. I hope you are inspired to play along with us this week! We always love to see what you do with our challenges!!

FMS 75

Good morning everyone! What a beautiful day we will be having today! The sun is out and it is supposed to get warm - yea!!! Nick has a soccer scrimmage today and tomorrow. It will be nice to be outdoors again and I am looking forward to the soccer season! I have finally gotten my quilt basted together and started quilting it. I hope I can find some time this weekend to keep up with that. Other than that it will be a nice weekend!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. It was a super clean and simple one and I need something to jump start my mojo. This was definitely it! I loved how this one turned out even though it was so simple!! But the colors are so bright and fun! I punched a strip of Rich Razzleberry with the dotted ribbon scallop punch and adhered it to the back of a piece of Sycamore Street designer paper. A piece of Rich Razzleberry stitched grosgrain ribbon was tied around it and then the panel was popped up onto a card base of Pool Party. Then I stamped the greeting from Perfectly Penned onto Whisper White in Rich Razzleberry. I flagged one end and added two silver brads to the other. This is then popped up onto the card. Easy!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! It's the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge! This week we have a color challenge. Take a look at these wonderful colors!!

Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Basic Grey. Aren't these colors just wonderful?! I do love grey and yellow together anyway and then adding a pop of that bright pink is just delightful! Take a look at how I put them together!

I stamped the swirl image from Everything Eleanor in Basic Grey onto a card base of Basic Grey. Then I added a strip of Basic Grey designer paper with one end flagged. I stamped the label image in Daffodil Delight and then the greeting from Perfectly Penned in Basic Grey onto Whisper White and cut it out. This is popped up onto the card. Then I took a piece of Melon Mambo card stock to the Big Shot and used the Beautiful Wings embosslit to cut a butterfly. I added a mini brad and adhered it to the card. Finally I added three pearls to the label.

More inspiration can be found at the Create with Connie and Mary website so be sure to visit! I hope you'll play along and show us your wonderful creations using these colors, too! We always love to see what you do! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good Friday morning, Friends! Thank goodness it's Friday! I am so excited to bring you another sketch challenge from the talented ladies at Sketch Frenzy Friday! This week's sketch was created by Robbie Rubala. Take a look!

A very clean and simple sketch. But I tried to make it too hard and it ended up taking me longer than needed to come up with a card. So I collected myself and went simple - like the sketch and here's what transformed!

When I got done I realized that I was making it way harder than I needed to. But I like my end result! I am also really happy that I got this leaf set! I love it!! I adhered a piece of Early Espresso card stock to the front of a More Mustard card. Then I adhered a piece of Orchard Harvest designer paper with the bottom flagged. I stamped the greeting from Perfectly Penned in Early Espresso onto a piece of Very Vanilla. This is popped up onto the card over the Early Espresso piece. Then I stamped the leaf from Wonderfall in More Mustard and fussy cut it out. The bottom part of the leaf is adhered to the greeting panel and popped up on the top part. Finally, I added a bronze button that has some Very Vanilla 1/8" taffeta ribbon tied in it. That's it!! I told you it was easy!!

Be sure to visit the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the other fabulous designers did with this sketch! I hope that you are inspired to play along, too! We love to see what you do with our sketches so be sure to upload your creation to to site! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

FMS 54

Good morning everyone! It looks to be a great weekend around here! I just want to thank everyone for your well wishes with my shingles! Your nice comments mean so much to me!! I am SO happy to report that I am doing much better! The rash is starting to get crusty and gross but I think that means it is going to go away very soon so that's what I am happy about - lol! And, while I still have pain, it's not unbearable and something I can deal with. Also, I am up and about and can do things like I normally do! So yesterday I stamped three cards!! I did get a little dizzy and some of the cards I am not totally thrilled with but they will do for now. I tried playing along with various challenges and I feel like I came up short but, again, it was a start and it felt good to get back into the craft room! Yea!!! No soccer games this weekend so I can really rest up! Because the next four weeks we travel!!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. Again, I am not sure that it turned out like I would have wanted but I really like the way the leaf came out!! I got this new leaf set and matching die and a new embossing folder earlier this week but was too sick to play with it. The colors around our area are SO beautiful right now! In fact, this weekend is Color Sunday! Anyway, I wanted to make my leaf resemble the colors that are going on right now. So I took a piece of More Mustard card stock and cut my leaf. Then I inked up the matching stamp from the Wonderfall stamp set with More Mustard and used a sponge to sort of dab off some of the ink. Then I used sponges and Early Espresso and Raspberry Ripple inks to sponge around and on top of the leaf. I ran the leaf through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain embossing folder. Then I took a spray bottle with water and spritzed the leaf until all the colors ran together! I love that part!! And this is what I got!! It's also cool because when the leaf dries, you can sort of "shape" the leaf and that's what I tried to do with dimensionals and glue dots. But back to the card... So a piece of Early Espresso is adhered to a card base of More Mustard. On top of this I adhered a strip of the new bronze glimmer paper (absolutely gorgeous) and then stamped the greeting from Perfectly Penned in Early Espresso. I adhered my leaf with dimensionals and glue dots and then added a bronze button with some linen thread. I called it done! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Wonderfall, Perfectly Penned; Paper- More Mustard, Early Espresso, bronze glimmer paper; Ink- More Mustard, Early Espresso, Raspberry Ripple; Accessories- Woodgrain embossing folder, bronze button, linen thread, dimensionals

Good morning everyone! Yea!!! It's Friday!! We are ready for a long weekend! I hope that you all get some time off this week to play along with us at Sketch Frenzy Friday! This week's sketch was created by Tammy Fite. Take a look!

Great sketch!! It was something a little different for me and I found out that it was FUN!! Take a look at what I did!

I kept it all very simple. I adhered two squares of the Orchard Harvest designer paper to a card base of Crumb Cake. Then I used the Apothecary Accents framelits dies to cut a frame from Very Vanilla card stock. I stamped the greeting from Perfectly Penned in Early Espresso and used the paper piercing essentials pack to pierce inside the frame. This is popped up onto the card. I stamped the flower from Perfectly Preserved in Raspberry Ripple onto Very Vanilla card stock and cut it out using the Cannery framelits dies. I put a brad in the flower center and attached it to the frame.

Click 'here' to go and see what Jennifer did with this great sketch. I hope that you will be able to take some time and create a project using this sketch and upload it to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog so that we can all see! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Perfectly Romantic

Good morning, Friends! We are heading home soon. The tournament was a great one even though it didn't end the way we would have liked. We won our first game yesterday 10-5 but lost the second game 5-2. So that meant we didn't advance to the championship. The boys played exceptionally well and had a great time! And it was fun to watch!! So now we head back home to get back to our routine. And Nick will be focusing on soccer. His summer is quickly coming to a close.

Today's card was inspired by one I saw in the recent Stamp It magazine. I liked how they stamped directly onto the designer paper. I love that effect but don't remember to do it. So I took a piece of designer paper from the Twitterpated pack and stamped the greeting from Perfectly Penned in Basic Grey. This is adhered to a piece of Whisper White and then to a piece of Basic Grey. I popped this panel up onto a card base of Whisper White. I added a strip of Riding Hood Red that has one end flagged. Then I stamped the floral image from Bordering on Romance in black StazOn onto a piece of Whisper White. I stamped this image twice and colored it with Baja Breeze, Island Indigo, Wild Wasabi and Riding Hood Red. I cut one image out completely and then on the second one I cut just the three big flowers. I added three brads. These are popped up onto the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Perfectly Penned, Bordering on Romance; Paper- Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Basic Grey, Twitterpated designer paper; Ink- Basic Grey, black StazOn, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Island Indigo, Wild Wasabi; Accessories- silver brads, dimensionals

Summer Birthday

Good morning everyone! I hope you are having a great weekend! We are in a small town in Utah at a baseball tournament that started yesterday. The boys won both of their games!!! The first one was a nail biter and the second was way more definite! So today we will see how far we can go! Last year these boys won this tournament but this year there are a LOT more teams and it is a much bigger tournament. They are playing great so far and we hope to really go 'big' today!!

Today's card features some great new products! I love this new set, Summer Silhouettes. I can see lots of possibilities with this one! I saw a card on the Hero Arts site that helped me create this card. And may I just say that the new style of ink pads are incredible!!!!! I wanted to incorporate the new In Color, Summer Starfruit. So I decided to pair it up with Garden Green and Elegant Eggplant. I stamped the stems and leaves in Garden Green onto Very Vanilla stamping off a few times. Then I added the flower tips in Elegant Eggplant. Then I stamped the flower on a scrap of Very Vanilla in Summer Starfruit and the flower center in Elegant Eggplant. I cut these out and popped these up onto the card. I stamped the greeting from Perfectly Penned in Elegant Eggplant. The corners are rounded with the 1" circle punch and the edges are sponged with Garden Green. Then the panel is popped up onto a card base of Garden Green. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

I cut down another piece of Basic Gray and stamped the flourish image from Everything Eleanor in Basic Gray. This is adhered to a piece of Pink Pirouette and then popped up on the card. Then I stamped the label image in Pink Pirouette on Whisper White and used my stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the greeting from Perfectly Penned in Basic Gray and then stamped the flower in Primrose Petals (I stamped the flower off before stamping it onto the label). I cut the label out and added a butterfly that was cut with the Beautiful Wings embosslit in Primrose Petals. I added a silver brad and popped the label up onto the card. The stamp set, Everything Eleanor and the color, Primrose Petals, are new products that I used here. LOVE the new style of ink pads! Very juicy and so easy to use!!! CCMC 200 - It's a Celebration!!!

Good morning, Friends! I am so excited to be sharing this week's Create with Connie and Mary challenge! They are turning 100!!! Well, Connie and Mary aren't turning 100 but their challenge site is!!! And to celebrate, they are giving away blog candy!!! So this week's challenge is a theme challenge and can you guess what that theme is? Well, the challenge is to create a project with a 'Celebration' theme. We would also like for you to use your favorite designer paper and pennants or banners. Sound like fun? I had fun with this challenge and I know you will, too!

For my card, I started with a card base of Crumb Cake. Then I took a piece of Early Espresso and ran it through the Big Shot with the Tasteful Trim die. I added these scallops to the back of a Very Vanilla panel. Then I took my favorite designer papers from the Mocha Morning pack and cut three of them into a banner shape. The ends of these are folded over a piece of Early Espresso baker's twine. The ends of the twine are wrapped around a brad. I did add a dimensional to the backs of the banners, too. Then I adhered this panel to the card base. I stamped the greeting from Perfectly Penned in Early Espresso at the bottom of the card base. A very fun and simple card using some of my favorite products!

Make sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary site to see how the other designers are celebrating! Don't forget to enter a project for this week's challenge to be eligible for blog candy!! We always love to see what you do! Remember to use only Stampin' Up! products!! Thanks for stopping by and celebrating with us!!

SSSC 155

Good morning everyone! I hope you are having a great weekend! Don't be fooled today -lol! Nick's team has another soccer game and I hope they fool the other team by winning!!! Their team lost yesterday 1-0. It was such a bummer as they played so exceptional! The other team's goal was a result of a penalty kick. Everyone was so proud of them! I am not one who really gets into April Fool's Day. So I hope it's just another beautiful fun day!

Today's card was inspired from Karen Giron's sketch challenge. I got the colors from the Color Coach - thought they were great masculine colors! I started with a card base of Sahara Sand and added a piece of Sahara Sand designer paper from the neutrals pack. Then I took a smaller piece of Sahara Sand and stamped the splatter from Extreme Elements in Sahara Sand and sponged the edges. Then I stamped the car from Need for Speed in black StazOn. This is adhered to a piece of Not Quite Navy. I added three strips of poppy parade which had their ends flagged and a brad in the corner. This panel is popped up onto the card. In the bottom right hand corner I stamped the sentiment from Perfectly Penned in black StazOn. Then I stamped the car onto a piece of Sahara Sand and added some color with a Not Quite Navy marker. I cut the car out and popped it up right over the other car that was stamped. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SFF 033012

Good morning everyone and TGIF!!! Are you ready for a great weekend? Well, I hope to help you get off to a great weekend by presenting you with the newest sketch challenge at Sketch Frenzy Friday! This week's sketch was created by Tammy Fite. Take a look!

Super interesting and fun! I seem to always have trouble with things at a diagonal but I do like how this one turned out. Take a look!

Now it is probably really hard to see but I used by Simply Scored tool to make the diagonal lines. It is really kind of cool! So I scored the lines on my card base of Calypso Coral. I stamped the sentiment from Perfectly Penned in the lower right hand side of the card in Soft Suede. Then on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla I stamped the image from Fresh Vintage in Calypso Coral three times. I cut these out and adhered them to pieces of Soft Suede that were punched with the Postage Stamp punch. Then I added a brad to each of the flower centers from the Everyday Enchantment ribbon and brad pack. The two left hand squares are glued flat and the middle one is popped up on the card.

Vintage Postage

Good morning everyone! I hope your week is off to a great start! I got my grocery shopping done yesterday and did the laundry and did a little something for dinner and even made some cookies! I was pretty exhausted! Looks like today I need to get some crafting time in! And I think some new toys should be delivered today as well! Yea!!

Today's card was inspired by an older PaperCraft's magazine. I took a piece of Very Vanilla and adhered a piece of designer paper from the Everyday Enchantment designer paper pack. I stamped the greeting from Perfectly Penned in Soft Suede in the bottom right hand corner. Then I attached a strip of Lucky Limeade that I had punched with the scallop trim border punch. On a piece of scrap Very Vanilla I stamped the image from Fresh Vintage in Lucky Limeade three times. I cut these out and attached them to squares of Soft Suede that were punched with the postage stamp punch. Then I stamped the small flower onto a scrap of Very Vanilla in Calypso Coral and cut these out. I put a mini brad in each one and used a glue dot to attach these to the squares. The squares are popped up along the strip of Lucky Limeade. Then I wrapped a piece of Very Vanilla seam binding ribbon this panel and used dimensionals to pop it up onto a card base of Very Vanilla. A pretty simple card! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

SFF 081911

Good Friday morning, Friends! Are you ready for the weekend? I am!! We are heading out this afternoon for Colorado Springs for a soccer tournament. The tournament takes place at the Air Force Academy. It is SO beautiful there! And we are all ready to get out of town! But before that happens I want to make sure you all know about the great sketch challenge from the team at Sketch Frenzy Friday! Check out the sketch that Angela Walters created:

And here is what I created using the sketch:

I rather like this one! To be honest, when I first saw the sketch, I wasn't sure what I could do with it. But then it came to me! Falling leaves! I started with my main panel. I stamped the background with the A to Z stamp in Pear Pizzazz on Confetti Cream card stock. I roughed up the edges with the distressing tool and then sponged Pear Pizzazz ink all the way around.  I stamped the greeting from Perfectly Penned in Cajun Craze and added two gold brads. This is glued to a piece of More Mustard. Then I used my piercer and poked holes around the main panel. This is popped up onto a Cajun Craze card base. I stamped the leaf image from Autumn Splendor three times on scrap Confetti Cream card stock in Pear Pizzazz, Cajun Craze, and More Mustard and cut them out. These are popped up on the front of the card.

And there you have it! Click 'here' to go to Jennifer's blog and see her creation! I hope that you will find some time this week to play along with our sketch challenge. I always love to see what you all come up with! I really do get inspired, too! Be sure to upload your creation at the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Raindrop Get Well

Good morning, Friends! It's Monday once again. And it is the last week of July! Wow! Nick starts his conditioning camp for soccer and then practice starts next week! As I told my friend, the "crazy" starts all up again! But the boys will need to be getting ready as they have a tournament in three weeks. And right after we get back from that, school starts! I do want to tell you all (cause I know that you love to hear all about my life), Nick got up early and went to work for nearly two weeks with Pat and also did a LOT of work around here to earn money. He wanted to buy a unicycle. Well, Saturday he had earned enough to buy one. So we went to The Bike Shop and let him get it. Of course he needed to learn to ride it but he stuck with it the rest of Saturday night, and all day yesterday and by the end of the day he had pretty much learned how to get up on it (without supports) and ride it quite a ways! We were so proud of him for how hard he worked to buy it and then to learn to ride it! Now I just hope and pray that the same motivation will carry on to and through school!

Today's card is one that I made up a week ago (or so). I had been wanting to figure out how to use the raindrop image from the My Friend set and this is what I finally came up with. I guess it turned out o.k. Thanks for stopping by to take a look! Have a super day!
