Good morning, Friends! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! I am here with my friend Sherry ready to start a great day of quilting! It's really nice to have time just for that! We will do just a little shopping and then hopefully get a lot done! Meanwhile, my son has two basketball games at home. As of right now they could use some serious cheering on! Go Nuggets!
My card today was inspired by the sketch at Techno Stamper. Here are the details
  • Card base is Pool Party
  • Layer of Pool Party
  • Use the largest banner framelit to cut a banner from the Sweet Sorbet designer paper then adhere to layer and adhere layer to card base with dimensionals
  • Stamp birthday greeting onto Whisper White with black StazOn then color the letters with Summer Starfruit, Pool Party and Crisp Cantaloupe markers
  • Punch a strip of Basic Black with the scallop edge border punch and adhere to Whisper White piece
  • Tie a piece of Summer Starfruit stitched satin ribbon around this and adhere to card with dimensionals

Framed Shop

Good morning, Friends! Man, it is getting so hard to get up this early in the mornings! I can't wait for the weekend when I will be able to sleep in a little! Nick has an orthodontist appointment and then soccer practice tonight. As for me, I need to finish up some design work for next week and then try to work ahead on some design work. I hope I can get a lot accomplished today! My legs are itching to get out for a run but I am still sore from the last one. I may have to postpone that for tomorrow.

Today's card is another that was created for a display. I think that you can guess that my display was about the Notable Notions set and the Shop Around wheel. Love the vintage look of these images! I am not very good at vintage and so I was thankful for the challenge! I think this one was my favorite! Here are the card details:

  • Card base is Baked Brown Sugar
  • On card base, use Baked Brown Sugar marker and a ruler to draw a "frame"
  • Layer of Baked Brown Sugar that was sponged with Baked Brown Sugar ink then popped up onto card
  • A second layer of Baked Brown Sugar that was stamped with the Shop Around jumbo wheel in Baked Brown Sugar and then adhere to card
  • Stamp tag image onto Very Vanilla in Basic Grey, cut out and also cut out center part of tag
  • Use glue dots to adhere a folded piece of 7/16" Trim behind tag and then pop tag up onto card so that it frames one of the adds (I chose to frame the Queen ad)
  • Stamp sentiment from Bring on the Cake in Baked Brown Sugar onto a strip of Very Vanilla and flag one end
  • Tuck the other end of the sentiment behind the tag and adhere to card
  • The button was made with the Simply Pressed Clay and the Buttons and Blossoms mold then colored with a Calypso Coral marker
  • Tie a piece of linen thread through the button and adhere to card
  • Finish it off with a large pearl at the tag top
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! I hope you are all having a super week! We had a great time with my parents this past week! They left yesterday morning and it's been pretty quiet and a little somber :( We always hate to say goodbye. But we will be seeing them again in about three weeks so that is something to look forward to! Yesterday I got my order from Stampin' Up! with my first order from the new catalog! Woohoo! I can't wait to find some time to play with all the new goodies! And there is still lots more I want to get - lol! A little at a time...

Today's card was done with a new set that I got with the pre-order. I also made this card for a recent swap I was in. The layout came from a sketch at My Favorite Things. A super simple card! I embossed a piece of Island Indigo with the Modern Mosaic embossing folder and adhered it to a card base of Whisper White. Then I stamped the greeting from Bring on the Cake in Island Indigo onto a piece of Gingham Garden designer paper. This is adhered to a piece of Melon Mambo and then the panel is popped up onto the card. I stamped the mosaic image from Mosaic Madness in Island Indigo twice onto Whisper White and punched it out with the mosaic punch. These are popped up onto the card and rhinestones are added to the centers. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 254

Good morning, Friends! I have been a little scarce lately. My son is out of school for the summer and now my parents are visiting for a while. So I did some stamping to get caught up on my design team assignments and that's really about it! I will be back in the swing of things, soon, so just hang in there with me! I appreciate all of you! Today is the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge and this week it's all about color! Take a look at these beautiful colors!

Island Indigo, Pool Party and So Saffron! I used the sketch from My Favorite Things to get me going on this and here is what I came up with!

A very simple sketch! I embossed a piece of Pool Party using the Moder Mosaic TEF (textured embossing folder) and adhered it to a piece of Island Indigo. This is then popped up onto a card base of So Saffron. Then I stamped the greeting from Bring on the Cake in Island Indigo onto a strip of Whisper White and flagged one end. This adhered to popped up panel. On Whisper White I stamped the image from Mosaic Madness in Island Indigo and cut it out. I adhered it to a piece of Island Indigo that was punched with the mosaic punch and then popped it up onto the card. I stamped the smaller image in So Saffron onto Whisper White and cut it out. This is popped up onto the first image and a pearl is added.

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website for more wonderful inspiration from the rest of the design team! I hope I will see your creation uploaded there this week! I just love to see what you all come up with and I do get inspired by your creations! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good Friday morning everyone!! Woohoo!! I'm always ready for the weekend - lol! And it looks like we will have a quiet one around here. Sketch Frenzy Friday has a new sketch for you all to try this week! It was created by me!! Take a look!

I saw a card at a stamp store on one of my visits to see a friend and I took a picture. I loved the simplicity of it and decided it would be perfect for a Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch! So here you go! This is what I came up with.

I adhered three strips of designer paper from the In Color stack - Calypso Coral, Pool Party, and Island Indigo. The ends were flagged and I tried to give them some dimension by curling them as well. Then I used the Apothecary Accents framelits dies to cut the shape from Very Vanilla. I stamped the greeting from Bring on the Cake in black StazOn and used markers to color in the letters - Calypso Coral, Pool Party and Island Indigo. I cut a piece of Basic Black to layer behind and added two Island Indigo brads. This panel is popped up onto the card.

Be sure to visit the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog to see what the other designers did with the sketch! I hope that we see your wonderful creations on there this week, too! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Happy Birthday, Nick!

Good morning, Friends! We made it to my parents' house yesterday late afternoon and are having a super time so far!! We will be making our way up to Kansas City for an interment for my sister's mother-in-law. And while we are there we will get to see my brother! Even though he will be here tomorrow it will be fun to see him today, too! And today happens to be Nick's 13th birthday!! Happy birthday, Nick!! I can't believe we have an official teenager! Yikes!!

So today's card is dedicated to Nick. I didn't happen to have any teenager type stamps in my stash. In fact, I really want Stampin' Up! to come up with some more teenager/grunge type stamps! But I used what I had on hand and here is what I came up with. And I paired it all up with some of his favorite colors! I took a piece Basic Black and cut out the shape with the Perfect Pennants die and then ran it through the Big Shot again with the Chevron embossing folder. I adhered it to a piece of Whisper White and added two gold brads. I stamped the greeting from Bring on the Cake in black StazOn and colored it in with Gumball Green, Melon Mambo and Summer Starfruit markers. This piece is then adhered to a piece of Gumball Green and then popped up onto a card base of Whisper White.

I just want to remind everyone that the Control Freaks blog tour will be up and running tomorrow evening. Be sure to stop by then to take the tour and be inspired for Christmas!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!!

Good morning, Friends! It's hard for me to believe that this is the last week of April! Wow! Where does the time go? It was a L O N G drive home yesterday! The boys didn't play well. Bummer. It was really quiet in our car! Now it is quite a fight to get him going this morning! Thankfully, this will be the last weekend for a late night ride home. Only three more games. It's been a quick season! Also, I promised you the link to the fabric organizer that I made last week for the Control Freaks blog tour. I finally found it and you can find it 'here'. Thanks for being patient with me on that one.

My card today was inspired by the sketch at My Favorite Things. I finally used something other than white as my card base - lol!! My card base this time is Island Indigo. This I layered a piece of the Summer Smooches onto two strips of Lucky Limeade that were punched with the dotted ribbon scallop punch. I inserted two silver brads before adhering it to the card base. Then I stamped the image from Bright Blossoms onto Whisper White in Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade and Tangerine Tango. This panel is popped up onto the card. I stamped the floral bunch on a scrap piece of Whisper White in Tangerine Tango and cut around it. I popped this up onto the panel. Then I stamped the greeting from Bring on the Cake in Island Indigo and adhered it to the panel. Quick and Easy!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! I can't believe we have finished up spring break around here! Don't dare tell Nick, though. He will say that he doesn't have to be back at school until Tuesday so he is technically still enjoying the break! Lol!! And enjoyed he has! I feel like I need a spring break from all the running around I have had to do for him!! He does have quite the social life! But I am glad that he has not just sat around and watched t.v. or played video games the entire time.

So yesterday I needed to get a quick card done for the blog today. I remembered that Mary Jo had a quick sketch challenge so I whipped this up! And easy it was!! I glued a strip of designer paper from the Summer Smooches pack onto a Lucky Limeade card base. Then I took another strip of dsp from the same pack and flagged both ends before adhering it onto the other strip. I stamped the sentiment from Bring On the Cake in black StazOn in the lower right hand corner of the card and colored in the word cake with a Lucky Limeade marker. Then I took a piece of Whisper White to the Big Shot and cut the largest oval from the ovals die. I stamped the greeting from Bring on the Cake in black StazOn and colored in the letters with Lucky Limeade, Daffodil Delight and Real Red. I added three silver brads and popped this up onto the card. Super easy and a fun quick birthday card! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Flirty Birthday

Good morning, Friends! It's Monday once again! It's a short week for Nick this week. They have Friday off and it is the first short week since Labor Day. I think I look forward to the weekends as much as Nick - lol! I didn't sleep so well last night so I am really tired, too! But this week the quarter will end. I can't believe it has gone that fast!

Today's card is one that I made a while ago. I know that I got my inspiration somewhere but can't remember right now. Could have been a combination of things, too. It's pretty simple! Lots of patterned paper and then the strip that I embossed with clear emboss powder. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Just Add Cake!

Good Sunday morning, Friends! I hope your weekend has been going super! We have been busy watching a lot of baseball around here! It has been so cool to be able to watch our favorite teams and players. And we will be going out again this morning. Since it is monsoon season, we are very humid around here! UGH! It did rain at our house early this morning but apparently not in town where they are playing. Weird! But I am grateful for the rain!!

Today's card is another that I CASE'd from the catalog - page 66. For this one, I changed the colors and left off the buttons. I believe that I also changed the size of the card. Other than that, I think I kept it pretty much the same! I hope that you all are getting inspired from the catalog, too! There are so many great ideas!! I am going to enter this one in the Inspiration In Action CASE Contest, too. I really like the way this one turned out and it was SO easy! Want to find out more about this contest? Click 'here' to go to Gretchen Barron's blog to find out more! And thanks to Gretchen for hosting such a FUN contest!! I love it! Thanks to you all for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!

April Club "b"

Good morning, Friends! Wow! We are already half-way through another week of April! Time is really not slowing down so I guess I had better figure out a way to get myself caught up!! Does anyone else feel this way? But I guess that spring is usually this way, now that I think about it. And here I thought that we were actually doing less - ha!! The weather is supposed to turn icky today. And by "icky" I mean wind. Yuck!! I really hate the wind! I noticed that Nick is coughing more, too. Time to pull out the inhaler!

Today's card was inspired by a layout that I had seen at Cards & Things challenge blog. It was their sketch challenge from last week. And it was a stamp club project for this month. Super simple and super easy!! I love a layout like this that can showcase beautiful designer paper!

Before I sign off today I would like to say a big "Thank You" to everyone who nominates me for different blog awards! I really do appreciate it! I haven't been finding the time to put them on my blog. But I don't want to ignore them either. Several of you have given me different kinds of awards and I am really flattered and deeply honored that you think I deserve them. So "Thank You" for these!! Have a super day, everyone!

SC 324

Good Sunday morning, Friends! I hope that you all are having a wonderful weekend! Nick was a guest player in a soccer game yesterday and they won! But it was sure miserable out there on the fields! The wind was blowing hard and those poor boys really had to kick the ball hard to against that wind! But it was fun! Today he has baseball practice and if the weather holds out I may go watch him practice. Sometimes it's fun to just get out and be outside! However, I sure am enjoying watching the March Madness basketball tournament! One of my teams lost last night :( Now I can just cheer for KU!!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch from Splitcoast Stampers. I started with my Crumb Cake, Basic Black and Vanilla theme but then I decided to add a little bit of color. And I have to say that I really like how this one turned out! It might be a favorite of mine! I just love this Fun Flowers die! It has so many possibilities and can be used in so many different ways! And I got out my jumbo eyelets (had to dust them off first - lol). But I need to get the instructions on how to use my crop-a-dile. I totally forgot!! Anyway, thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Bring on the Cake; Paper- Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, First Edition designer paper; Ink- Basic Black, Crumb Cake; Accessories- Fun Flowers die, jumbo eyelets, rhinestone brads, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, sponge, dimensionals
