CAS(E) This 26

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! The soccer season ended this past weekend and now we will finish off it all off with a tournament at home next weekend. So we will have a free weekend! Woohoo! I get to spend it with a friend on the eastern slope! I am so excited! But there are things I need to get finished up before then! And stamping is one of them. I am feeling a real need to get some new product. I hope to have something new to show you all next week. We will see...

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) This.  I am loving the new Epic Day designer paper!! I just need more stamps images to go with it. But until then I am trying to make what I have work. I thought the fish from By the Tide would work well with the green and blue piece. And I did want to go for a more masculine look. So I took a piece of the Epic Day designer paper and adhered it to a card base of Sahara Sand. Then I stamped the greeting from Made for You (retiring at the end of this month - boo) in Basic Grey onto a piece of the Epic Day designer paper. I rounded the corner with the 3/4" circle punch and tied some linen thread around this piece. This is popped up onto the card. Then I stamped the fish from By the Tide onto Very Vanilla. I inked the fish up in Daffodil Delight and then took a sponge and daubed some Pool Party (hard to see) and some Gumball Green ink on it before stamping. I thought it turned out kinda cool! I cut the fish out and popped it up onto the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

A Secret Garden for You

Good Sunday morning, Friends! It's been a sort of whirlwind of a weekend around here. We picked up Nick early from school on Friday and he got his hair cut then it was off to Denver for a soccer game yesterday. Then we came home right after that and now he has another soccer game this afternoon! Whew! Our schedule looks crazy like this for the next few weeks. But it is nice to get out of town even if it is for just one night. The boys won yesterday so here's hoping they win again! And then I need to spend the rest of the afternoon getting ready for my stamp club tomorrow! Woohoo! 

Today's card was inspired by one I saw on Pintrest. I changed it up quite a bit but that's where the inspiration came from. I took a piece Crumb Cake and rounded the top corners and then used the white StazOn pad to ink the edges of the card stock. This is then adhered to a strip of Print Poetry designer paper that was punched with the scallop edge border punch. I stamped the sentiment from Made for You in black StazOn. Then I tied a piece of Raspberry Ripple stitched satin ribbon around this and adhered it to a card base of Baja Breeze. On the bottom right hand corner of the card base I stamped a flower from Secret Garden in Baja Breeze. Then On a scrap piece of Crumb Cake I stamped another flower in VersaMark and embossed it with white emboss powder. I used Raspberry Ripple ink and a blender pen to color it and then I carefully cut it out with paper snips. I cut two stems from Old Olive using the Secret Garden framelits dies. I added these to the back of the flower and ten popped it up onto the card. The final touch was to added a rhinestone! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! Wow! It's Friday already! This week really flew by! I can't believe spring break is over. But before Nick goes back to school, we are going to have one last bit of fun! We are headed to a Nuggets game!! Woohoo! Today The Sketch Frenzy Friday team reveals a new challenge! This week's sketch was created by Patrice Herrera. Take a look!

What a fun sketch! So many great elements to embellish! Here is what I came up with!

I really like how this came out! I cut a circle from Crumb Cake using the 3" circle die. I started by cutting a strip of Cajun Craze and adhering it to a piece of Not Quite Navy. Then I stamped the coral image from By the Tide in Crumb Cake and sponged the edges. I cut part of the circle off and then adhered it to the panel. I used the Modern Label punch to punch the shape three times and adhered just part of the shape to the edge of the card. I cut away the unwanted parts and punched holes to insert Very Vanilla brads. I stamped the sentiment from Made for You in black StazOn and then popped up the panel up onto a card base of Crumb Cake. Then I stamped the fish in Not Quite Navy onto Very Vanilla and cut it out. This is popped up onto the card.

Today's card was inspired by Mary Jo's lunchtime sketch challenge. It was an easy sketch and that is just what I needed with the busy day I had yesterday! I was glad to be able to make it a masculine card, too! I adhered a piece of Print Poetry designer paper to a card base of Midnight Muse. Then I stamped the coral image from By the Tide in Crumb Cake onto a piece of Crumb Cake. I also stamped the sentiment from Made for You in Midnight Muse and then I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink. I added three brads and popped this piece onto the card. Then I stamped the fish in Midnight muse and cut it out. This is popped up onto the card. Done! I told you it was easy!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Birthday Flower

Good morning, Friends! I love my guys when they let me sleep in! It felt SO good! I am feeling much better and especially since I got to sleep in! And now they are off at school and work and I can drink my coffee and blog in peace. Ahhh!! So today, since I am feeling better, I had better find some mojo and get back to work! I am really hoping to get a lot done today. Next week is spring break and I want to be able to not worry about all this other stuff - lol! 

Today's card was one that I copied from the Stampin' Success magazine. Actually, the focal point is really the only thing that's the same. I just thought it was so cute! I ran a piece of Very Vanilla through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain embossing folder and added a strip of Tea for Two designer paper with both ends flagged. This is then popped up onto a card base of Very Vanilla. Then I punched a scallop circle from So Saffron and curled the edges slightly. To the back of this I added some leaves of Lucky Limeade that I punched using the 1 3/8" circle punch. This is popped up onto the card. On a piece of Very Vanilla I stamped the sentiment from Made for You in Early Espresso and punched it out with the 1 3/8" circle punch. This is adhered to the center of the scallop circle. Then I added a small vintage faceted button with some linen thread tied through it. A sweet happy spring card! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! I had a "Monday" yesterday. That's all I have to say about that. Glad it's over and I can move on to Tuesday - lol! I did get some stamping done yesterday. Still have more to do as I get ready for the new Card "Create"tions Edition coming up for Create with Connie and Mary. So excited about that! Check out my side bar for more info. More of the same today. At least we will be home earlier. Nick starts his testing today - well all the kids do. Week of testing. He is looking forward to it as it will be a distraction from the regular routine. I told him to hang on for two more weeks and then it's Spring Break! Yea!!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Seize the Birthday. This week was to make a feminine birthday card with the sketch. I love how this site will help keep you up on making birthday cards! Such a great idea! I wanted to try a technique I had been seeing around. For this card I first took a piece of Island Indigo and ran it through the Big Shot using the Argyle embossing folder. This is adhered to a card base of Crumb Cake. Then I took a piece of Crumb Cake and stamped the greeting from Made for You in Island Indigo. This is popped up onto the card. Above the greeting a piece of Island Indigo is adhered down. For the focal point I took a piece of Crumb Cake and embossed the image from Bordering on Romance in white using the VersaMark pad. Then I used markers and a blender pen to color it in. The colors I used were Pool Party, Island Indigo, Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Old Olive and I outlined the image with a Crumb Cake marker. This panel is then sponged with Crumb Cake and popped up onto the card. I added three rhinestones to the flower centers. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! I hope that you are all having a fabulous week! We seem to have a little "bug" going around our family the last few days. Nick had it a couple of weeks ago ending with a need for more asthma medicine. Geez that stuff it expensive!! But he is doing so much better now. But now my husband seems to have some chest congestion and I am starting to feel a scratchy throat. Time to get serious and fight back - lol! Sure hope it's minor. Today I am excited to have the second class for hand piecing! Yup! I am making a small wall hanging quilt completely done by hand! It's the way my grandmother did it and I am so excited to learn it! I don't know if I will do a lot like this but it's good to learn and I want to keep trying it!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Splitcoast. This is actually last week's sketch but I did this card for a swap, too. I wanted something very masculine. I stamped the coral image from By the Tide in Summer Starfruit (stamping off once before stamping onto the card stock) onto Summer Starfruit and then sponged the edges in Summer Starfruit. Then I adhered a strip of Midnight Muse and wrapped some linen thread around this a few times. I stamped the greeting from Made for You in Soft Suede and then adhered the panel to a card base of Soft Suede. I stamped the coral image again in Soft Suede onto a piece of Very Vanilla and sponged the edges in Soft Suede. This is adhered to a piece of Soft Suede and then popped up onto the card. I stamped the fish in Midnight Muse onto Very Vanilla and cut it out. This is popped up onto the card as well. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! Well, it's back to the deep freeze! I did not want to come out from under the blankets this morning. A few more hours of sleep would have been nice, too. But I must get back to the regularly scheduled program around here - lol! I can tell you that Nick is certainly not ready to get back to it all, either! But we must press onward. A haircut for me today and then I need to get caught up on laundry and some stamping.

Today's card was inspired by the Mojo Monday sketch from a few weeks ago. I actually made this card for a swap. I thought it was a great way to use those heart doilies that come with the More Amore designer paper! For this card I took a piece of Basic Grey and punched the side with the scallop edge border punch. To this I adhered two pieces of More Amore designer paper and then this panel is popped up onto a card base of Pool Party. Across the panel I adhered a strip of Real Red card stock that has the end flagged. Then I carefully cut a heart from the More Amore designer paper and stamped the greeting from Made for You in Basic Grey. This is popped up onto the card. I punched a heart from Real Red and popped it up on the bigger heart and added a pearl. Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Clean&Simple 223

Good morning from Las Vegas! We got here pretty early yesterday and checked in and rested a while before seeing the rest of the team. Then we drove down to the strip and the guys rode the roller coaster at New York New York. We walked around a little and then had pizza and headed back to the hotel. Nick and my husband tried to see a movie but ended up back at the hotel and the kids just played arcade games. So much activity around here! And lots of different events going on this weekend! It's crazy! But we are having fun and we only need jackets!! We figured it was almost 40 degrees warmer here! SO nice!!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Clean&Simple. Not a lot of stamping on this one and that makes it really simple!! I adhered a piece of Sycamore Street designer paper to a card base of Island Indigo. Then I stamped the sentiment from Made for You in Island Indigo onto a panel of Whisper White and adhered two strips of Tangerine Tango that were punched with the dotted ribbon scallop punch. This is adhered to the card. I punched a scallop circle from Island Indigo and a Whisper White circle. These are adhered together and popped up onto the card. I used the Elegant Butterfly punch to punch one from Pool Party and the Bitty Butterfly punch to punch one from Summer Starfruit. These are adhered together with a brad in the middle and then popped up onto the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good Friday morning everyone! I hope your New Year is off to a super start! I can't believe that Nick will have to go back to school on Tuesday! Wow! This break really went by fast!! I am looking forward to having some time at home to myself, though! Today the Sketch Frenzy Friday team has another wonderful sketch for us! This week's sketch was created by Tammy Fite. Super simple and super cute!! I wanted to create something with my new toys so here is what I came up with!

I have to say that I really like how this came out!! I kept is simple, just like the sketch! I took a piece of the beautiful new designer paper from the More Amore designer paper pack and adhered it to a card base of Basic Grey. Then I took a piece of Very Vanilla and stamped the greeting from Made for You in Basic Grey. To the back of this I adhered two strips of Primrose Petals that were punched with the dotted ribbon scallop punch and then adhered this to the card. I stamped the scalloped heart from Hearts a Flutter in Basic Grey onto a piece of Primrose Petals and cut it out using the Hearts a Flutter framelits dies. I popped this up onto the card and added a Basic Grey button that was threaded with some linen thread.

Good morning everyone! A quick one this morning as we are headed out the door and home to Colorado! What a super great, fun, and special week we had! Can't wait to come back for Christmas!

Today's card was inspired by one I had save from Pinterest. And the last of my fall cards for a while. I adhered a piece of Early Espresso to a card base of Crumb Cake. Then I layered a piece of Orchard Harvest designer paper to a piece of Very Vanilla. I wrapped some linen thread around it a few times and popped it up onto the card. Then I stamped the leaves from Wonderfall in Cajun Craze and More Mustard onto Very Vanilla and cut them out. These are popped up onto the card. I tied some linen thread through a bronze button and added it to the card then I stamped the sentiment from Made for You in Early Espresso onto a strip of Very Vanilla and tucked it behind the button. Not a Very Merry Monday 41

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! Nick's basketball team ended their season with a win! So that was fun and exciting! Now we have the district tournament to look forward to at the end of this week! I think that basketball has worn him out! He is ready for a little vacation! I didn't seem to get much done yesterday - ugh! I hate it when that happens! So I really need to focus and get going! Here's hoping that it all comes together today!

Today's card was inspired by the Merry Monday sketch at Always Playing with Paper. I love the trio of circles (or any shape that you might want to have)! The Merry Monday sketch challenge is meant to be a Christmas card but I am still trying to get as many fall cards in as I possibly can. So I went in a different direction but still used the sketch. And that is also the reason for the blog title - lol! A very easy card! I adhered a strip of Orchard Harvest designer paper to the front of a Crumb Cake card base and then three 1 3/8" punched circles from Early Espresso. On Very Vanilla I stamped the apple from Perfectly Preserved in Raspberry Ripple and the stem in Lucky Limeade three times then cut them out using the Cannery framelits dies. These are popped up onto each circle. Then I stamped the greeting from Made for You in Early Espresso. And you can probably tell that I had to punch out my greeting from another piece of Crumb Cake. That is because I messed it up on my card and didn't want to take it all apart to do it over. And I do wish that I had added some rhinestones. That would have been really cute, too. Good morning, Friends! What a wonderful weekend we have been having!! I am so thankful that my parents could meet us this weekend and watch Nick play soccer! They did lose their game yesterday but they played very well! It was fun to watch!! We went to the aquarium yesterday and that was really fun! Got to see some very interesting fish! Nick really enjoyed it, too! And then we ate a very nice dinner and came back to the hotel for an evening of just visiting. Now we will watch the last game of Nick's soccer season and then part ways. That won't be fun but we will see them again in November for Thanksgiving!

Today's card comes from a sketch at Freshly Made. This was from a few weeks ago. I love the bright colored leaves on this one! I took a piece of Very Vanilla and wrapped a piece of Raspberry Ripple stitched satin ribbon around it. Then I adhered it to a card base of Very Vanilla. I flagged the bottom of a strip of Orchard Harvest designer paper and tucked it under the ribbon. I stamped the leaves from Wonderfall in Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, and Lucky Limeade onto Very Vanilla and cut them out. These are popped up onto the card. I stamped the greeting from Made for You in Raspberry Ripple and added a bronze button with some linen thread. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! We are in Denver for the last of our soccer games for the season. And as a bonus, my parents decided to drive up and meet us to watch Nick! It has been so fun to be able to visit and catch up! And Nick is excited to be able to have someone else watch him play besides his parents - lol! Today we play the number one team in our division. I just hope all the boys play their very best! Good luck Fire FC!!

Today's card is one that I made quite a while ago. It comes from the CPS blog. They have decided to end their sketches and that makes me sad as I have gotten a lot of great ideas from them. But they are moving on to other things and for that I wish them luck! This sketch is actually from last month but I thought it looks fun! I adhered squares of Orchard Harvest designer paper to a piece of Early Espresso which is then adhered to a card base of Crumb Cake. I used the Autumn Accents die to cut out two leaves from Very Vanilla and then inked up the coordinating leaf stamp from Wonderfall in Cajun Craze and then Lucky Limeade. I laid the leaf on top of the stamp and rubbed it to get the image onto the cut leaf. The leaves are popped up onto the card. I stamped the greeting from Made for You onto a strip of Very Vanilla and flagged one end before adhering it to the card. Finally, I added a bronze button with some linen thread tied though it. Greetings Friends!! It's Thursday once again and time for another great challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week we are being challenged with a sketch! Check out this fun sketch!

Something a little different for me but I like that! I like that these challenges get me out of my box! And I like how my card turned out! 

I kept my card pretty simple. I took a piece of Crumb Cake card stock and layered a piece of Orchard Harvest designer paper at an angle and then wrapped a piece of Raspberry Ripple stitched satin ribbon around it before adhering the panel to a card base of Crumb Cake. Then I layered a piece of Crumb Cake to a piece of Early Espresso and popped it up onto the card. Then I stamped the images from Perfectly Preserved onto Very Vanilla - the jar in Early Espresso, the lid in Island Indigo, the flower in More Mustard, the apple in Raspberry Ripple and the stem in Lucky Limeade. All these were cut out using the Cannery framelits dies. The lid is adhered to the jar and then popped up onto the card. I popped up the apple and tucked the stem behind it. I put a neutrals brad through the flower center and popped it up onto the jar lid. Finally, I stamped the greeting from Made for You in Early Espresso. A fun fall card!

Good morning, Friends! Another week seems to be flying by! Yesterday's basketball game was SO much fun! My husband and I are going to have a lot of fun watching Nick play his school sports! He was so nervous yesterday that he texted me before school was out to say his stomach hurt. I told him it was nerves but he wasn't sure. I did know that there was a bug going around so I wasn't so sure either. But the day ended, he told me he was fine, and he played great!! Actually, the team played great! The other team they faced had four boys that were taller than their teacher/coach!!! They were giants!! But that didn't freak out our boys! They shut those tall kids out and won their game 39-13! We all are so proud! Now he is exhausted but up and ready to go. Their next game is on Thursday. I can't wait!!

Today's card was one that I did a few weeks ago (most of these were done while my computer was in the shop). I thought this was a unique layout so I gave it a try. It is from Retro Sketches - simple and different. I adhered a piece of Orchard Harvest designer paper to a piece of Early Espresso and rounded the one corner with a 1" circle punch. Then I tied a piece of Raspberry Ripple stitched satin ribbon around it. To the back and bottom of this panel I adhered a strip of Raspberry Ripple scallops that was cut with the Tasteful Trim die. I stamped the greeting from Made for You in Raspberry Ripple on a piece of Very Vanilla and adhered it to the back and top of the panel and then the panel is popped up onto a card base of Crumb Cake. Finally, I added a leaf which was cut with the Autumn Accents die from champagne glimmer paper. This is then popped up onto the card.

Good morning, Friends! It's time for another fun Thursday challenge from the ladies at Create with Connie and Mary! This week they have pulled up some really fun colors to use for this week's challenge! Take a look!

Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green and Chocolate Chip! And here is how I used them!

Summer Starfruit is one of those colors that seems to have people either loving it or hating it. And I think I have hear of more 'hates' than 'loves'. So I thought it was great that Connie and Mary decided to have us show it some 'love'!! I definitely don't hate the color but I do have a hard time using it. It is not one of my 'go to' colors. So maybe we can say that Summer Starfruit is just misunderstood - lol!! Ok. On to the card! Another very simple one. I embossed a piece of Summer Starfruit card stock with the Woodgrain embossing folder and popped it up onto a card base of Summer Starfruit. Then I adhered a piece of Chocolate Chip that was punched with the scallop edge border punch. I stamped the leaf from Wonderfall in Gumball Green onto Very Vanilla and fussy cut it out. This is popped up onto the card. I stamped the greeting from Made for You in Chocolate Chip onto a strip of Very Vanilla and flagged one end. This is adhered to the leaf. The final touch was to add a bronze button that has some Very Vanilla 1/8" taffeta ribbon woven in it.

Good morning everyone! Seems to be a busy week for us so far. I can't believe that we are nearing the end of August! Wow!! Nick is looking forward to a long weekend this weekend! I think we all are!! No special plans for us, but it will be nice to just relax at home and try to get some things done around here. I hope your week is going well and that you are able to find some time to create! That is on my schedule for today!

Today's card comes from the latest challenge at Nacho Average Challenge. This week they have a sketch challenge. I really liked how clean and simple it was so I was excited to play along! I took a strip of Very Vanilla and ran it through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice embossing folder and adhered it to the card base of Very Vanilla. Then I stamped the flower stem from Summer Silhouettes in Lucky Limeade and the flower top in Raspberry Ripple. I used my paper piercing essentials pack to help me pierce a circle around the flower. Then I tied a piece of Very Vanilla seam binding ribbon around this before popping this panel up onto the card. Then I stamped the greeting from Made for You in Raspberry Ripple and attached it to the card. My final touch was to add a rhinestone to the flower (kind of hard to see). Good morning, Friends!! Are you all ready for a great weekend? I guess that first week of school wore me out a little - lol!! It was really nice to sleep in a little. A little later we will be going to Nick's first soccer game of the season! I am so excited for them to get this season started! And I think they are ready to go out and win!! Then Nick has a birthday party sleep over, so Pat and I will have the evening to ourselves! Gee, whatever will we do :))))

Today's card come from a sketch at Freshly Made. Yep! I used the Perfectly Preserved set! Love this set!!! I ordered a brand new package of Crumb Cake two weeks ago and I need to get another one ordered! I just love how all these colors go together!! And you will be seeing this set for a few more cards (in a row). Did I say how much I love this set? :) O.k. This card is so super simple looking but not so much a simple card to make. Well, it might be for you all but I had to start over several times - lol! I drew a light pencil line on my card base of Crumb Cake. Then I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the apples and stems and I stamped them in Crumb Cake. Then I stamped the other apple in Raspberry Ripple onto Very Vanilla and the stem in Lucky Limeade onto Very Vanilla and used the Cannery framelits to cut out those pieces. I popped up the apple onto the card, covering one of the Crumb Cake apples. Then I used the sentiment from Made for You and stamped it in Early Espresso. Finally I added a rhinestone for a little bling!! I did erase the line very carefully, too. Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!!

Good morning, Friends! An early morning post that will be quick as we will be leaving shortly to go out of town to a memorial service for a family member. And I didn't sleep well at all last night so I know that there is a migraine just around the corner. Hopefully a cup of coffee and a few pills will nip that and I will be good to go for the rest of the day!

Today's card is the third one that I did with my stamp club on Monday. I just love the color Crumb Cake. Anything goes with it!! And here I paired it with Wisteria Wonder. I love how soft it is. I took a piece of Crumb Cake and rounded one corner. I took two strips of Crumb Cake dsp flagged the ends and sponged them before adhering them to the panel. Then I stamped the image from Summer Silhouettes in Crumb Cake ink and the sentiment from Made for You in Basic Black. I used my paper piercing essentials pack and a piercer to pierce a circle around the flower to highlight it. I wrapped a piece of Wisteria Wonder ruffled ribbon around this and popped it up onto a card base of Crumb Cake to which I rounded the corner, too. Finally I added a flower that was punched from Wisteria Wonder using the itty bitty shapes punch pack with a rhinestone. So soft and simple!! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
