CCMC 297

Good morning everyone! It's time for another great Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge! This week we have a sketch! Take a look!

And my card...

I had another card planned for this sketch but didn't like it so I started over and this is what evolved! I will share my other card - maybe - if I'm brave enough - lol! I really like the way this one came out! I pulled out a set that I hadn't used in a while but still really love!

  • Card base is Pear Pizzazz
  • Adhere three strips of Gingham Garden designer paper to card base
  • Stamp the vine image from Thoughts & Prayers in Pear Pizzazz onto Whisper White and the sentiment in Night of Navy
  • Adhere stamped panel to a piece of Night of Navy then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Use the itty bitty shapes punch pack to punch 10 flowers from Daffodil Delight
  • I give each petal a small snip and then adhere to stamped image with a glue dot
  • A rhinestone is added to each flower center and then curl the flower petals up
Love the spring-like look of this card! Just makes me happy!!

A wonderful super simple sketch! So many possibilities! But here is what I came up with!

I, too, kept it very simple! Here are the card details:

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Stamp tree from Thoughts & Prayers and greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Basic Grey onto a piece of Smoky Slate
  • Adhere to a piece of Basic Grey card stock
  • Punch a strip of Daffodil Delight using the dotted ribbon scallop punch, adhere to back of panel and pop up onto card
  • Cut a butterfly from Daffodil Delight using the Beautiful Butterflies embosslit
  • Adhere butterfly to card and add a pearl
And there you have it! Be sure to check out what the other designers did with this sketch at the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog! I hope that you will be able to play along with us this week! I look forward to seeing your creation! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! It's time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge! This week we are being challenged with color!

So Saffron, Sahara Sand, and Soft Suede! Beautiful colors! And colors I never would have put together before now! I did have a hard time trying to figure out how I wanted to put them together. I pulled out my Beautiful Butterflies die and this is what came about!

I am quite pleased with how easily this came together once I decided on the butterflies! I haven't used this die in quite a while. I stamped the sentiment from Thoughts & Prayers in Soft Suede onto a piece of Sahara Sand and then sponged the edges in Soft Suede. This is adhered to a piece of So Saffron and then popped up onto a card base of Soft Suede. I cut two butterflies from the Tea for Two designer paper. I sponged the edges Soft Suede ink and adhered them together. To the back of the butterflies I adhered a folded piece of Victoria crochet trim and then popped up the butterflies onto the card. I tied some linen thread through a Neutrals designer button and adhered it to the butterfly.

I hope that you will visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to see even more inspiration! And I hope to see your creation using these fabulous colors! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! Wellll... It snowed last night! About four inches!! Ugh! Yes, we need the moisture and that's what I have to keep telling myself. But it is so cold and it is supposed to be colder tonight. I didn't want to get out from under the blankets. Nick's track meet went great yesterday even though it was cold and wet! Thankfully, it didn't downpour or anything like that. And Nick did great! He had some great competition this time and rose to the occasion! And it is just fun to watch all these kids! As for today, I do hope to accomplish some stamping and then have some leisure time for sewing. I haven't done that in a while and am anxious to get something done!!

Today's card was inspired by last week's sketch at Freshly Made. I made this card for a swap I was in for this month. I stamped the sentiment from Thoughts and Prayers in black StazOn on a piece of Very Vanilla and added two silver brads. This panel is adhered to a card base of Very Vanilla. Then I took a piece of Naturals Composition specialty designer paper and adhered it to a piece of Basic Black that was punched along the bottom with the scallop trim punch. I tied a piece of Very Vanilla seam binding around this and popped the panel up onto the card. I punched a circle from Very Vanilla with the 2 1/2" circle punch and stamped the tree image in black StazOn. I sponged the edges in Crumb Cake and popped the circle up onto the card. I used the Beautiful Wings embosslit to cut some butterflies from Calypso Coral. I used the smallest butterfly and adhered it to the card and added a tiny pearl. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

For Sharon

Good morning, Friends! Are you having a great week so far? We are half way through it! The weeks seem to be flying by! So why can't I seem to get anything done? My sister contacted me yesterday to tell me her mother-in-law had passed away. I had the honor of knowing her and what a wonderful lady she was!! She will be dearly missed especially by her family but also by the community. She did so much for the mentally handicapped in her community! She definitely was an amazing woman! But cancer is such an awful disease! I sure do hope we find a cure for it! Anyway, I wanted to make a card to send to my sister and her family. I know my nieces and nephew are missing her terribly, too. As is my brother-in-law. Love you all!!

So today's card is for my sister and her family. I had found a card that I had saved quite a while ago (like more than a year) because I liked the layout. I got my color combination from the Color Coach. I flagged the end of a strip of First Edition designer paper to a card base of Rose Red. Then I stamped the sentiment from Thoughts & Prayers onto a piece of Naturals Ivory. At the bottom of this panel I added a strip of Rose Red that had been punched with the dotted ribbon scallop punch. This is adhered to a piece of Wild Wasabi and then the panel is popped up onto the card. Then I took some So Saffron to the Big Shot and ran it through using the Beautiful Wings embosslit. I used three butterflies and adhered them to the card. To the largest one I added a strip of pearls. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and are ready for another week! We had a super weekend! We left on Thursday for Park City, UT. Nick had a soccer tournament up there that started on Friday. We had never been up there before so it was a great experience and beautiful scenery! The boys played excellent but the outcome was not what we wanted. They tied all of their games! The final game went into over time and then finally was decided in penalty kicks. Guess we need to work on those - lol! Sounds like we will be doing this tournament again next year. Yea!! I had every intention of posting while I was gone but we didn't know the password for the wifi so I just used by phone to check e-mails and didn't worry about the blog. But here I am now!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. I haven't used the Top Note die in a while. I took a strip of the First Edition designer paper and adhered it to a strip of Basic Black that has the edge punched with the scallop edge border punch. This is adhered to a card of Very Vanilla. Then I took a piece of Very Vanilla and a piece of Basic Black and cut them with the Top Note die using the Big Shot. The Basic Black piece was cut down so that only the very bottom is used for the card. I stamped the image and sentiment from Thoughts & Prayers in Basic Black, adhered the Basic Black piece and then tied a piece of Basic Black taffeta ribbon around this. I popped this panel up onto the card base. Then I used the itty bitty punch pack to punch a flower from Daffodil Delight and added a pearl. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Out of the Box

Good morning, Friends! Wow! I can't believe that we are at the last week of June! The summer is really flying by! Well, the tournament didn't end well for us. We lost our first game on Sunday. The boys played very well but there were a few things that just didn't go our way. But that's the game of baseball. I guess I wasn't too upset because we could get in our nice air conditioned car and drive home to our air conditioned house and take a nap - lol!! It is just so HOT around here! Yikes!!!

Today's card was inspired from the Hero Arts blog. Of course I changed the card to use Stampin' Up! product. She called it "out-of-the-box". Great name, eh!! So I gave it a try. It is pretty simple to do. I stamped the tree from Thoughts & Prayers in Basic Black onto a piece of Crumb Cake. Then I took my exacto knife and a straight edge to cut the left hand side of my card. I was extra careful to not cut the tree limb off. For that part, I used my scissors to cut out the tree branch. Then I used my trimmer to cut the other three sides of my card to the desired size. I stamped the sentiment in Basic Black. Then I took a strip of Basic Black and adhered it to the right side of a Crumb Cake card. The stamped panel is popped up onto the card. For my final touch, I took some Raspberry Ripple card stock and ran it through the Big Shot with the Beautiful Wings embosslit and added a rhinestone. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 202

Good morning, Friends! It's Thursday once again! These weeks sure seem to be flying by! But I do hope you're ready for another FUN challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! This week we are being challenged with color. And what fabulous colors they are! Take a look!!

Poppy Parade, Pool Party and Basic Black. Don't you just love these colors together?! Here is what I came up with. Take a look!

My card base is Pool Party. I took a piece of Pool Party designer paper and adhered a strip of Basic Black that was punched with the dotted ribbon scallop punch. I just love those little scallops peeking out! This panel is adhered to the card. Then I took a piece of Whisper White and made it into a tag. I stamped the tree and sentiment from Thoughts & Prayers in Basic Black. I added a Pool Party brad and a bit of Basic Black satin ribbon. This is popped up onto the card. The last thing I did was to add a flower that was punched from Poppy Parade with the itty bitty shapes punch pack and a pearl.

Be sure to visit the Create with Connie and Mary website to get more inspiration from the other fabulous designers! Then create your own project and upload it so that we can all take a look! I always love to see what you do with these challenges! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Freshly Made 32

Good morning, Friends! Boy, was it hard to get up this morning!! None of us really wanted to! Only one more morning this week and we can sleep in! Nothing much exciting happening today, so I will continue to get the laundry done and get caught up on some stamping. I may try to organize my stamp room a little, too.

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. Another fun simple sketch! I am trying to use up my soon to be retired designer papers. I love the Mocha Morning papers and will miss them! I adhered a piece of the Mocha Morning designer papers onto Basic Black and then wrapped a piece of Basic Black taffeta ribbon around it then adhered it to a card base of Very Vanilla. Then I punched a piece of Very Vanilla with the 2 1/2" circle punch and stamped the image from Thoughts & Prayers in Crumb Cake. I stamped the greeting in black StazOn and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake. This is adhered to a scallop circle of Basic Black that was cut with the Perfect Pennants die. I popped this up onto the card. Then I punched a flower with the itty bitty shapes punch pack from Baja Breeze card stock and added a pearl. I also added three pearls just outside the scallop circle. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Thinking Mocha

Good morning, Friends! I had every intention of posting yesterday but ran out of time. We had to get Nick to the gym early yesterday for his basketball tournament. The team played three games yesterday. They won one and lost two. They didn't play terrible for a team that has been together for only a few short weeks! Then we came home for just a few moments and bundled up for a baseball fundraiser at our local parade of lights. The boys sold hot chocolate and cookies. Didn't make a ton of money but didn't do too bad either! Today we will be at the gym early again for two more games and then we go up to the 'ranch' where Pat's family is and have an early Christmas. Since we are all heading out of town later this week, we are getting together for a little Christmas! Very exciting! Anyway, it has been a busy weekend!!

Today's card is one that I made a while ago. Not a favorite but there are things that I like about it. As I look at it, I do wish that I had paid better attention and made the stripes match. But I love these colors!! And I love the Mocha Morning designer paper!! My card base is Early Espresso with a layer of Crumb Cake that was run through the Big Shot with the Tulip Frame embossing folder. Then I cut a piece of Early Espresso and scalloped one end and tied a piece of Very Vanilla seam binding ribbon around it. I cut four squares of Mocha Morning designer paper, rounded the corners and glued them onto the Early Espresso piece. This panel is popped up on the card. Then I cut a square of Crumb Cake and stamped the tree from Thoughts and Prayers in Crumb Cake and the greeting in Early Espresso. I also sponged the edges in Crumb Cake. This square is also popped up. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good Friday morning! Ahhhh! And it is a long weekend! For us it is extra special because it is the last day of school and my parents and my brother are coming out for a visit! We don't get to see them as often as we like. In fact we haven't seen them since Christmas! The JUCCO World Series starts this weekend and we are going to be watching a lot of baseball! Fun, fun, fun!! But Friday also means that there is another wonderful sketch challenge from Sketch Frenzy Friday! This week's sketch is brought to us by Tina Taves. Take a look:

So simple and so many possibilities! Here is what I finally came up with:

I hope it doesn't look too fall like (because I am not ready for fall just yet). I started with a card base of Garden Green. Then I ran a piece of Cajun Craze through the Big Shot with the square lattice embossing folder and sponged it. This gets glued to the card. Then I cut a 3 1/2" circle from Crumb Cake and stamped my greeting from Thoughts & Prayers in Early Espresso. The circle is sponged with Crumb Cake. Then I got my Lovely as a Tree stamp set out and dusted it off (literally) and stamped the leaves in Garden Green on Very Vanilla cardstock. I cut them out and sponged a little Wild Wasabi over them to give them a little more color. I popped these up on the circle and the circle is popped up on the card. The last thing I did was to punch a flower from Cajun Craze using the itty bitty shapes punch pack. I put the flower right over the acorn and added a basic pearl. And there you have it!

So now I am going to send you off to see what Jennifer has done with this sketch. Be sure to click your way through the tour to get inspired! By doing this, you will eventually end up at the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog where you are able to upload your creation! I do hope that you will find time to play along this week! I love looking at all your wonderful creations! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

TSSC 164

Good morning, Friends! I am pre-posting this as I am in Fort Collins getting ready to watch my son and his team play their first soccer game of the season! We are very excited to see how they are going to do this season. And we are excited because next week is spring break!

Today's card was inspired by a layout from Mary Jo. Each week she comes up with some fabulous sketches! I don't always find the time to play along but I know where I can go to get some great inspiration! Anyway, this card is kind of a "two-fer". I got to play along with the challenge and I have some really good friends that are experiencing a great loss. So this card will go to them. Thank you so much for stopping by! It always makes my day to read your comments! Have a super weekend!
