Peaceful Sand

Good morning everyone! Since school got out late Wednesday morning, Nick has been non-stop! I think I am running him around more now that school's out than when it was in session! And he doesn't have any practices or anything scheduled - lol! I'm glad he's enjoying spending time with friends! So that means I haven't had much time to stamp or spend time stamping in my room. I am hoping to today! I need some more cards for my blog and I need to finish up my June challenges! I had my carpets cleaned yesterday and it feels so good! My parents will be here later this weekend! So much fun!!

Today's card was one that I had originally done for the CCMC color challenge. But I just wasn't all that thrilled with it. I'm glad I changed it. I don't hate this card, just not thrilled with it. I am sure going to miss this set!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • On a piece of Sahara Sand, stamp the flower image from Peaceful Petals randomly using Sahara Sand ink
  • Stamp greeting onto a strip of Whisper White using Basic Grey ink and adhere to Sahara Sand panel then adhere panel to card base
  • Stamp flower image onto a piece of Soft Sky using Soft Sky ink and cut out
  • Cut the leaves from Basic Grey card stock using the Little Leaves sizzlet (going to miss this, too)
  • Adhere leaves to card then adhere flower to card with dimensionals
  • Add a large rhinestone to flower center and two smaller ones by the greeting
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CQC Techno

Hello everyone! I had every intention of posting yesterday but the weather put the internet on hiatus. Ugh! I just hate this severe wind! And then I think my computer had some technical issues with wanting to connect with the internet so that was why there was no post. I had a most fantastic weekend with my friend Sherry! And I feel like I accomplished quite a bit! So much fun!!! Right now I am having an iced chai tea latte and a piece of pumpkin bread at Starbucks so I can use their internet - lol! Then I will do a little shopping and meet Sherry for lunch before I head to Lakewood and the New Catalog Premier Party!!! I can't wait to see the new catalog! Woohoo!!

So here is the card that I would have posted yesterday. I used the sketch from Techno Stamper and the color challenge from ColorQ. I really like the way watercoloring looks on the Crumb Cake!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Cut a piece of Gingham Garden designer paper in half diagonally and adhere to a piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock then adhere to card base
  • Stamp the flower image from Peaceful Petals in VersaMark onto Crumb Cake and emboss with white emboss powder
  • Watercolor image with a blender pen and Elegant Eggplant and Daffodil Delight inks and outline image with a little Crumb Cake
  • Adhere panel to a piece of Elegant Eggplant and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting onto a strip of Daffodil Delight with Elegant Eggplant and flag the end then adhere to card
  • Tie a piece of white baker's twine through a vintage faceted button and adhere to card
There you have it! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Retro 111

Good morning, Friends! I hope your read for a great weekend! I am off today to see my friend Sherry on the Eastern Slope for the weekend! Woohoo! Lots of sewing going on this weekend! And I just had two full days of it! So I should be getting a lot done, right? Ha!! Actually, I have been! I got a lot done on a new project. I still have quite a few unfinished ones. So we will see just how much I do get done - lol! Then on Monday I am going to attend the catalog premier in Denver! I am so excited to get to see the new Stampin' Up! catalog! Don't worry! You all will get to see it soon, too!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Retro Sketches. I thought my card was almost too simple but I really kind of like it this way. With the soft colors it really is just a soft and simple card! The Tulip frame embossing folder will be retiring. I haven't used it much lately but I do like the way that little bit of embossing.

  • Card base is Pool Party
  • Take another piece of Pool Party and run it through the Big Shot with the Tulip Frame embossing folder and cut around the outside of the frame then adhere to card
  • Adhere a piece of Pink Pirouette card stock
  • Stamp the leaf image from Peaceful Petals in Crumb Cake onto a piece of Crumb Cake card stock several times
  • Stamp the greeting in black StazOn
  • Sponge the edges using Crumb Cake ink then adhere stamped panel to card with dimensionals
  • Flag the end of a strip of Pool Party and adhere to Crumb Cake piece
  • Tie a piece of linen thread through a Very Vintage designer button and adhere to card

Freshly Made 128

Good morning, everyone! What a gorgeous day is in store for us here on the Western Slope! Yesterday turned out to be chilly and windy and a bit rainy. It didn't rain enough to make a difference but every now and then it did spit enough to make it cold. But today is different! Woohoo! Love spring! My guys are going on a mountain bike ride today. I will be watching some basketball (two of my teams will be playing today) and I hope to stamp some. Having the sun shine outside gets me motivated to do something! :)

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. I also used some inspiration from a card that my friend Becky made!

  • Card base is Crisp Cantaloupe
  • On a piece of Whisper White I stamped the leaf image from Peaceful Petals in black StazOn twice and colored them in with a Pistachio Pudding marker and outlined the image with a Soft Sky marker
  • Stamp the greeting in black StazOn
  • Adhere a piece of Sweet Sorbet designer paper to the bottom part of the panel
  • Adhere panel to a piece of Basic Black
  • Adhere a strip of Basic Black to the front of the panel and tie a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe twine from the Sweet Sorbet accessory pack around it
  • Adhere panel to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the flower image onto a piece of Whisper White with black StazOn and color image in with Crisp Cantaloupe, Summer Starfruit and Pistachio Pudding markers
  • Cut image out and adhere to card with dimensionals (you may have to trim the stem of the flower off so it doesn't show)
  • Add a rhinestone
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

So he spends his morning doing tests and then they are out of school the rest of the day! He is looking forward to that! Not so much the testing - lol! He and a group of friends are going to have lunch together at a local pizza place. I thought that sounded like fun!!

Today's card was created from a sketch that I have saved on my computer from a while ago. I really like this sketch and do plan to use it again!

CMCC 8

Good morning, Friends! Are you glad it's Friday? We sure are around here! Nick didn't have school today so we all got to sleep in and that was wonderful! Looks like it rained a bit last night. Nothing major planned today. I hope to get more stamping done and then some stitching tonight with friends!

Today's card was inspired by the color challenge at Colour Me. This challenge was from a few weeks ago but I just loved the subtle colors! I scrolled through some old cards that I had done (many) years ago and found this layout. That was kind of fun to do! I think I might use some of my favorite layouts from years past! Anyway, here are the details:

  • Card base is Soft Sky
  • On a piece of Whisper White, stamp the flower image from Peaceful Petals in black StazOn and color with Soft Sky, Pistachio Pudding and Baked Brown Sugar markers
  • Then adhere a piece of Baked Brown Sugar card stock to the left side
  • Run a piece of Pistachio Pudding card stock through the big shot using the Decorative Dots embossing folder and then adhere to the right side of the stamped panel
  • Tear the Pistachio Pudding piece to the size desired
  • Tie a piece of Whisper White taffeta ribbon around the panel and then adhere to card base with dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting in black StazOn onto the card base
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

CCMC 292

Good morning, Friends! It's time once again for the Thursday challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! This week we are being challenge with some fabulous colors! Take a look!

Summer Starfruit, Pistachio Pudding and Basic Black. These colors can be found in the Sweet Sorbet designer paper pack from the SAB brochure. But I decided to not use the dsp for my card. Check it out!

It took a while for this card to come together as I would start it and then have to walk away and then come back to it and then walk away again. This went on for a few days until I finally was able to put it all together! And I do like the end result!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • On a piece of Summer Starfruit stamp the splatter images from Gorgeous Grunge in Summer Starfruit and black StazOn then stamp the greeting from Peaceful Petals in black StazOn
  • Round the top right corner with the corner rounder and adhere to a piece of Basic Black card stock that also has the top right corner rounded with the corner rounder
  • Adhere panel to card base
  • Stamp flower and leaf images from Peaceful Petals in black StazOn onto Whisper White
  • I used the ink pad and a blender pen to watercolor my images then I took the Summer Starfruit and Pistachio Pudding markers and colored parts of the image to make them stand out (this is the part that took so long to get the way I wanted)
  • Adhere the leaves to the back of the flower and adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Add two rhinestones
Be sure to check out all the wonderful creations from the other designers at the Create with Connie and Mary site! I hope you will join us and play along! I do love to see how you interpret our challenges! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Peaceful Thinking

Good morning, Friends! Well we made it home safe and sound yesterday! However, when we walked into our house, we discovered that the heat is not working. NOT good!!! We don't know how long the heat has been out but everything else is in working order. Thankfully Nick spent the night at a friend's house so he stayed warm. We went out for dinner then came home and wrapped up in blankets and watched the K-State football game. We do have a gas fireplace and a space heater so there is a little heat for us - lol! I'm just thankful to have hot water and no broken pipes! PTL!!! We are hoping to get it all fixed today so we can get warm!!

Today's card uses some new products that will be coming out in the Occasions mini catalog on January 3. I look out my window and it looks like a frozen tundra so this card takes me to a time when it will be warm and sunny - lol! Here are the details.

  • Card base is Pistachio Pudding
  • Layer of Pistachio Pudding - stamp leaves image from Peaceful Petals in Pistachio Pudding, stamp greeting in black StazOn and sponge edges of layer with Pistachio Pudding then adhere to card base with dimensionals
  • Punch circle from Naturals white card stock with 2 1/2" circle punch
  • Stamp flower in black StazOn and use a blender pen with Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding and Summer Starfruit inks to watercolor the image
  • Sponge edges of circle with Pool Party
  • Use the Perfect Pennants die to cut a scallop circle from Basic Black and adhere to flower circle then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Add rhinestone
I hope you all are staying warm! It will be a nice cozy day to watch the Broncos! Thanks for stopping by!
