Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! I had a "Monday" yesterday. That's all I have to say about that. Glad it's over and I can move on to Tuesday - lol! I did get some stamping done yesterday. Still have more to do as I get ready for the new Card "Create"tions Edition coming up for Create with Connie and Mary. So excited about that! Check out my side bar for more info. More of the same today. At least we will be home earlier. Nick starts his testing today - well all the kids do. Week of testing. He is looking forward to it as it will be a distraction from the regular routine. I told him to hang on for two more weeks and then it's Spring Break! Yea!!
Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Seize the Birthday. This week was to make a feminine birthday card with the sketch. I love how this site will help keep you up on making birthday cards! Such a great idea! I wanted to try a technique I had been seeing around. For this card I first took a piece of Island Indigo and ran it through the Big Shot using the Argyle embossing folder. This is adhered to a card base of Crumb Cake. Then I took a piece of Crumb Cake and stamped the greeting from Made for You in Island Indigo. This is popped up onto the card. Above the greeting a piece of Island Indigo is adhered down. For the focal point I took a piece of Crumb Cake and embossed the image from Bordering on Romance in white using the VersaMark pad. Then I used markers and a blender pen to color it in. The colors I used were Pool Party, Island Indigo, Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Old Olive and I outlined the image with a Crumb Cake marker. This panel is then sponged with Crumb Cake and popped up onto the card. I added three rhinestones to the flower centers. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Good morning, Friends! We are heading home soon. The tournament was a great one even though it didn't end the way we would have liked. We won our first game yesterday 10-5 but lost the second game 5-2. So that meant we didn't advance to the championship. The boys played exceptionally well and had a great time! And it was fun to watch!! So now we head back home to get back to our routine. And Nick will be focusing on soccer. His summer is quickly coming to a close.
Today's card was inspired by one I saw in the recent Stamp It magazine. I liked how they stamped directly onto the designer paper. I love that effect but don't remember to do it. So I took a piece of designer paper from the Twitterpated pack and stamped the greeting from Perfectly Penned in Basic Grey. This is adhered to a piece of Whisper White and then to a piece of Basic Grey. I popped this panel up onto a card base of Whisper White. I added a strip of Riding Hood Red that has one end flagged. Then I stamped the floral image from Bordering on Romance in black StazOn onto a piece of Whisper White. I stamped this image twice and colored it with Baja Breeze, Island Indigo, Wild Wasabi and Riding Hood Red. I cut one image out completely and then on the second one I cut just the three big flowers. Lots of possibilities with this one! I had a hard time trying to figure out what I wanted to do. But here is what I finally came up with.
I wanted to try something with the white gel pen on Crumb Cake card stock. So I got out the Bordering on Romance set and gave it a go! I stamped the image in VersaMark onto Crumb Cake and embossed it in black. Then I used my white gel pen and Cherry Cobbler and Pear Pizzazz markers to color it in. I stamped the sentiment from Friendly Phrases in black StazOn toward the bottom of the panel and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake. I added a piece of Basic Black narrow taffeta ribbon. My card base is Crumb Cake. I added three panels of Crumb Cake that have the edges sponged, too. The focal panel is popped up onto the card. Finally, I added rhinestones to the flower centers.

Good morning, Friends! Another week seems to be flying by! Nothing too exciting going on around here. I got some new toys yesterday and I am looking forward to spending some time playing!
Today's card is one I did for a swap last month. I really liked the way this one turned out! The black really makes a 'pop'! I started with a card base of Naturals Ivory and then took another piece of Naturals Ivory and ran it through the Big Shot using the Frame Tulip embossing folder. I cut around this before adhering it to the front of my card. Then I cut a piece of Basic Black with the Labels framelits die and adhered this to the card. Before cutting another framelit, I stamped the piece of Naturals Ivory card stock with the Apothecary Art stamp by coloring just the frame of it with a Basic Black marker. This is popped up onto the black frame. Then I stamped the flowers from Bordering on Romance in black StazOn onto Naturals Ivory card stock. I colored them in with a blender pen and Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz, More Mustard and So Saffron. I cut them out and added three brads before popping them up onto the card. Then I took a strip of Naturals Ivory card stock and stamped the greeting from Thank You Kindly. I flagged one end and tucked the other end behind the flowers. I love the possibilities with this one! So take a look at what I came up with!
I like how this one came together! I started with a card base of Pool Party. Then I took a piece of Very Vanilla and stamped my greeting from Friendly Phrases and stamped it in black StazOn. I also stamped my image from Bordering on Romance in black StazOn and then colored it with Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, Pool Party and Poppy Parade markers. I scalloped the bottom edge of this piece and the glued it to the card. Then I took another piece of Pool Party and ran it through the Big Shot using the Labels framelits die. I sponged the inside of the frame before popping it up onto the card. Then I took a strip of Calypso Coral and glued it to the card. I stamped the line of flowers in Pool Party at the bottom of the card. The last thing I did was to stamp a flower image on a scrap of Very Vanilla, color it using the same colors and then cut it out. I adhered this to the outside of the frame and used a pearl for the flower center.

Good morning, Friends! Our extended weekend in Phoenix has really confused me as to which day we are in the week. But I am really happy that this will be a short week. I am ready for the weekend!! Got the laundry caught up yesterday so now I need to focus on getting some stamping done today. I haven't been in my craft room for a while so I hope that I haven't lost my mojo! Guess I will find out!
Today's card was inspired by one that I saw on Pintrest. Another simple card but I love the colors and layout. I started with a piece of Whisper White and stamped the greeting from Friendly Phrases to the upper left hand corner in black StazOn. Then I glued a piece of designer paper from the Twitterpated pack just below it. To hide the seam, I glued a strip of Baja Breeze over it. This piece was popped up onto a piece of Whisper White that was glued to a card base of Lucky Limeade. Then I stamped the flowers from Bordering on Romance onto a scrap of Whisper White in black StazOn and colored them in with Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Riding Hood Red, Blushing Bride and Baja Breeze markers. I cut them out and popped them up onto the card. I added a few rhinestones to the flower centers. I also added a few rhinestones in the corner of the designer paper but they must have fallen off before I took the picture because there is only one left - lol! Today's card is from a sketch at The Paper Players. This is actually their challenge for last week but it would also fit this week's challenge, too. So I will probably enter it for that one. But I did use the sketch as my starting point. I took a piece of Baja Breeze and added a piece of Twitterpated designer paper to it. Then I stamped the greeting from Thank You Kindly in Basic Grey onto a scrap of Whisper White and punched it out with the Decorative Label punch. This is glued to the back of the Baja Breeze panel. Then I wrapped a piece of Whisper White taffeta ribbon around this and popped it up on a card base of Whisper White. For my focal point I took a stamp from the Apothecary Art set and stamped just the outline part of the image. Then I took it to the Big Shot and used my Labels Framelits die to cut out the shape. This is popped up over the ribbon. I stamped the flower images from Bordering on Romance on scrap pieces of Whisper White in Basic Grey and colored them in with Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze, Island Indigo, Riding Hood Red and Pear Pizzazz markers. I cut these out and popped them up on the label frame. The little flower in the corner actually has two dimensionals on it! The last thing I did was to add a little bling with some rhinestones! Today's card was inspired by a sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. They have some really fantastic sketches!! For this challenge, they are going long. So my card is a 3 x 6 card. I started with a card base of Whisper White and then added a piece of Basic Grey and then a piece of Twitterpated designer paper. I took a piece of Riding Hood Red and ran it through the Big Shot with the Adorning Accents edgelits die to scallop it. This is added to the card. Then I took a strip of Whisper White and stamped the greeting from Friendly Phrases in Basic Grey. Then I took a piece of Whisper White and stamped just the outline of one of the stamps from Apothecary Art in Basic Grey. I took this to the Big Shot and used my Labels Framelits die to cut the shape. This is popped up on the card. Then I stamped the flowers from Bordering on Romance in Basic Grey onto Whisper White and colored them in with Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Island Indigo, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz markers. I cut them out and added three brads before popping them up on the card. Good morning, Friends! It is so good to be back to my regularly scheduled routine! I still have the lingering effects of a cold but I am happy to be back to "normal". My son even stayed home from school one day this week because he had the same thing. Feels more like allergies than a cold. And with all this unseasonably warm weather we are having, it is no wonder!
Today's card was inspired from a sketch at Create with Connie and Mary. It is actually their sketch challenge for those that have subscribed to their Create Occasions Edition. And it is their sketch from last week. I just loved this sketch! Something a little different. My card base is Basic Grey to which I added a piece of the Twitterpated designer paper. At the top of this I added a piece of the Blushing Bride satin pleated ribbon. Then I cut a piece of Whisper White that was 2 3/8" wide (can't remember how long). I stuck one end through the top of my 2 1/2" circle punch (the other end is sticking out so that it won't get punched). This rounds the top. Then I stamped the greeting from Friendly Phrases in black StazOn. I took a strip of Riding Hood Red and ran it through the Big Shot using the Adorning Accents edgelits. This is glued to the back of the Whisper White piece. Then I took some of my cut out flowers from the Bordering on Romance stamp set and arranged them on my panel. One is glued flat and the other is popped up. The trio of flowers has brads in the flower centers. They were stamped on Whisper White in black StazOn and then colored with markers - Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Island Indigo, Riding Hood Red, and Baja Breeze. This whole Whisper White panel is then popped up onto the card. These flowers were leftovers of the project that I did for the Create Occasions Edition. But you have to be a subscriber to see that! The colors this week are Peach Parfait, Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade. Such FUN colors! But I did have a hard time trying to put Peach Parfait and Calypso Coral together. Here is what I finally came up with.
I decided to let the Confetti Cream do most of the 'talking'. These colors can be very bright but with all the cream they do soften quite a bit and can look very pretty! I love the way this one turned out! I got my layout from an older Clean&Simple sketch. I stamped the image from Bordering on Romance onto Confetti Cream in black StazOn. Then I used my aqua painter and water colored the image with Calypso Coral, Peach Parfait and Lucky Limeade. Then I cut the image out. I took a piece of Confetti Cream and stamped the greeting from Friendly Phrases in black StazOn at the bottom and attached this to a piece of Lucky Limeade. This panel is then popped up onto a card base of Confetti Cream. Then I took a strip of Calypso Coral and flagged both ends before gluing it to the card. Then I took a piece of Peach Parfait and ran it through the Big Shot with the Labels framelits die. I sponged it with Peach Parfait before popping it up on the card. The cut out flowers are then popped up on the label. The final touch was to add some pearls. And there you have it!

Today's card was inspired by an older PaperCrafts magazine. I took a piece of Whisper White and cut it down a bit. Then I glued three strips of designer paper from the Twitterpated designer paper pack and glued them down. Then I took a piece of the Blushing Bride pleated ribbon and glued it to the bottom of the strips. I stamped the greeting from Friendly Phrases in Basic Grey and popped the panel onto a Whisper White card base. Then I took a piece of Whisper White and ran it through the Big Shot with the labels framelits die to cut a label. I stamps the sprig of flowers from Bordering on Romance in black StazOn and colored it in with Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz. I also stamped a flower on a piece of scrap Whisper White, colored it in and cut it out. I popped this up on the die cut label and then popped the label up on the card. My card starts off with a card base of Whisper White. Then I cut down another piece of Whisper White and adhered it to piece of Pear Pizzazz and popped it up onto the card base. Then I attached a piece of designer paper from the Twitterpated designer paper pack with one end flagged. Then I used Labels framelits die and cut a label from Whisper White card stock. I stamped the image from Bordering on Romance in black StazOn inside the label and then again on a scrap piece of Whisper White. I watercolored both images with an aqua painter and Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Riding Hood Red and Island Indigo ink pads. I cut out the cluster of three flowers from the scrap piece and popped them up on the stamped image on the label. The label is then popped up on the card. I added three pearls to the flower centers. Then I stamped the greeting from Happiest Birthday Wishes in black StazOn on a strip of Whisper White and flagged one end. This is glued to the label.
