MFTWSC 153

Good morning, Friends! Well, I didn't get anything done yesterday- lol! Actually I worked hard on a stitching project that is for a Christmas present and have that almost done. But I did not venture out to shop at all! Sooo… It looks like today is the day! But I think I am a little more ready to do it. I just hope I can get it all done fairly quickly! Then Nick has an indoor soccer game and more basketball practice. Busy, busy, busy! His finals are also coming up this week. He says he's ready! And we will see if I can be ready to leave on Friday.

I had wanted to post another Christmas card but didn't get one made so I am showing you a card that I did with my stamp club this month. This one was inspired by a sketch from My Favorite Things. Here are the details:

  • Card base is Naturals Vanilla
  • Layer of Etcetera designer paper that is sponged with Baked Brown Sugar
  • Strip of Night of Navy card stock that was punched with the scallop edge border punch and then adhered to the dsp layer
  • Adhere panel to card with dimensionals
  • Squares were cut from Naturals Vanilla and then stamped with the script image from Notable Notions in Baked Brown Sugar
  • Sponge squares with Baked Brown Sugar then adhere to card
  • Cut a strip of Baked Brown Sugar card stock and angle both ends then adhere to card
  • Stamp circle image from Notable Notions in Calypso Coral onto Naturals Vanilla and punch out with 1 1/4" circle punch then sponge edges with Baked Brown Sugar
  • Adhere circle image to a Calypso Coral circle punched with 1 3/8" circle punch
  • Tie a bow with a piece of linen thread and adhere to back side of circles then pop the circle up onto card
  • Add a Night of Navy candy dot to center
Sounds like a lot of work! But I do like the way it turned out! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

CCMC 269

Good morning, Friends! It's time for another Thursday challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week it's a sketch challenge! Take a look!

And my card:

I wanted to use stamps that have been neglected as I seem to be using Halloween, Thanksgiving and even Christmas stamps more now. So I pulled out Notable Notions and went simple. Here are the details:

  • Card base is Very Vanilla
  • Layer of Baked Brown Sugar that was run through the Big Shot using the Argyle embossing folder
  • A layer of Etcetera designer paper was sponged with Baked Brown Sugar
  • Flag a strip of Etcetera designer paper and adhere to sponged piece
  • Adhere a strip of Night of Navy card stock that was trimmed at one end then adhere panel to card
  • Stamp tag from Notable Notions in Baked Brown Sugar onto Very Vanilla and cut out
  • Punch hole in tag and thread some 7/16" Naturals Trim through and tie a piece of linen thread around this then pop tag up onto card
  • Use the 1 3/4" scallop circle punch to punch the scallop circle from Pool Party and lightly sponge edges with Baked Brown Sugar
  • Use the 1 3/8" circle punch to punch a circle from Calypso Coral and adhere to scallop circle
  • Stamp sentiment from Notable Notions in Night of Navy onto Very Vanilla and punch out using the 1 1/4" circle punch then adhere to other circle
  • Pop circle element up onto card
  • Add a Calypso Coral candy dot to center
Be sure to see what the other designers did with this fun sketch at the Create with Connie and Mary website! I hope you will be inspired to play along with us this week! We always love to see what you come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Framed Shop

Good morning, Friends! Man, it is getting so hard to get up this early in the mornings! I can't wait for the weekend when I will be able to sleep in a little! Nick has an orthodontist appointment and then soccer practice tonight. As for me, I need to finish up some design work for next week and then try to work ahead on some design work. I hope I can get a lot accomplished today! My legs are itching to get out for a run but I am still sore from the last one. I may have to postpone that for tomorrow.

Today's card is another that was created for a display. I think that you can guess that my display was about the Notable Notions set and the Shop Around wheel. Love the vintage look of these images! I am not very good at vintage and so I was thankful for the challenge! I think this one was my favorite! Here are the card details:

  • Card base is Baked Brown Sugar
  • On card base, use Baked Brown Sugar marker and a ruler to draw a "frame"
  • Layer of Baked Brown Sugar that was sponged with Baked Brown Sugar ink then popped up onto card
  • A second layer of Baked Brown Sugar that was stamped with the Shop Around jumbo wheel in Baked Brown Sugar and then adhere to card
  • Stamp tag image onto Very Vanilla in Basic Grey, cut out and also cut out center part of tag
  • Use glue dots to adhere a folded piece of 7/16" Trim behind tag and then pop tag up onto card so that it frames one of the adds (I chose to frame the Queen ad)
  • Stamp sentiment from Bring on the Cake in Baked Brown Sugar onto a strip of Very Vanilla and flag one end
  • Tuck the other end of the sentiment behind the tag and adhere to card
  • The button was made with the Simply Pressed Clay and the Buttons and Blossoms mold then colored with a Calypso Coral marker
  • Tie a piece of linen thread through the button and adhere to card
  • Finish it off with a large pearl at the tag top
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Thank You Tag

Good morning, Friends! Well the first day of school seemed to go great for Nick yesterday! But today he is really dragging his feet! I think he is wore out already - lol! After school yesterday we went to get his hair cut and then to find a guitar for his beginning guitar class. He put some of his own money toward one so he could get one that he likes. And I am glad it worked out that way! I am excited for him to learn how to play and he seems to be really excited about it, too! A sports guy that will have some musical ability, too! And then today after school we will need to get a few more school supplies for some of his classes. I think he is going to have a super year! I am still having a hard time getting used to this routine - lol!

Today's card was another one that I had made for a display. A very simple card!! I am pretty sure that I had used a sketch but now I can't remember which one it was. Here are the details:

  • Card base is Pool Party
  • Layer of Baked Brown Sugar and then a layer of Pool Party
  • On the layer of Pool Party the tag stamp from Notable Notions was stamped in Pool Party as well as the buttons (these were stamped off once) and then the layer was sponged with Pool Party ink
  • The two layers were adhered together and then I used a clip from the Hardware Clips Essentials
  • Pop up this panel onto card base
  • Stamp greeting from Morning Meadow in Baked Brown Sugar onto a strip of Very Vanilla and flag both ends
  • Strip is popped up onto card
  • Button is made from Simply Pressed Clay and the Buttons and Blossoms mold
  • I sponged the button with Baked Brown Sugar ink and tied some linen thread through it and adhered it to the card
  • I added a Very Vanilla candy dot to the stamped tag top
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Striped Notions

Good morning, Friends! Well, we have finally arrived at the first day of school! Woohoo! Well, Nick isn't really saying that but I think he is still excited nonetheless. It's a new school for him this year and that's what I think he is excited about. We did have a great time in Denver last week! He loved his camp and I found it quite nice to be able to come back to my room and have it tidied up for me! Lol!! The hotel we stayed at had a free hot breakfast every morning and then in the evening it offered a sort of dinner for its guests including complimentary cocktails!! So a few times we ate there! But now it's back to reality. I am getting my dryer fixed this morning so I can do the mound of laundry I have. I have stamp club tonight so I will be getting ready for that. And Nick has a haircut after school and then soccer practice! Lots to do!

Today's card was another that I had made for a display. A very simple card. I had fun using the Notable Notions stamp set! here are the details:

  • Card base is Very Vanilla
  • Use scallop edge border punch to punch the side of a piece of Old Olive, then sponge with Baked Brown Sugar ink
  • Stamp the script image from Notable Notions onto Etcetera designer paper using Baked Brown Sugar ink several times and then sponge dsp with Baked Brown Sugar before adhering to Old Olive panel
  • Pop up Old Olive panel onto card
  • Adhere a strip of Night of Navy card stock
  • Punch a scallop circle from Baked Brown Sugar and sponge edges using Baked Brown Sugar ink
  • Punch 1 3/8" circle from Night of Navy and adhere to scallop circle
  • Stamp focal image from Notable Notions in Old Olive onto Very Vanilla card stock and punch out using 1 1/4" circle punch then adhere this to Night of Navy circle
  • Adhere a piece of 7/16" Trim to the back of the scallop circle and then pop up onto card
  • Add a Night of Navy candy dot to the center of the focal image
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a fabulous day!!
