CCMC Saturday Blog Hop: Emboss Resist

Hello everyone! It's time for another Saturday blog hop with the Create with Connie and Mary designers! This week we are featuring the Color Me Irresistible designer paper or the emboss resist technique! I am your stop after the fabulous Debbie Henderson!

I was late to the party and failed to get my Color Me Irresistible designer paper ordered on time. So I went with the emboss resist technique. It was super fun and easy to do! I found a great color combination and went to work:

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • On a slightly smaller piece of Whisper White adhere a piece Everyday Chic washi tape along the top of the panel
  • On another smaller piece of Whisper White stamp the dots image from the Dotty Angles stamp set at the top of the panel using VersaMark ink
  • Emboss the dots using clear emboss powder
  • Sponge color onto the panel starting with Wisteria Wonder and then Soft Sky inks and a sponge
  • Stamp the greeting from Happy Birthday, Everyone stamp set using Momento ink
  • Adhere panel to the washi tape panel
  • Tie a piece of Calypso Coral thick baker's twine around the panel and tie a bow then adhere panel to card base with dimensionals
  • Punch a flower from Calypso Coral card stock using the itty bitty accents punch pack and adhere to card
  • Add a rhinestone to flower center
  • Add a few clear sequins from the metallic sequin assortment
Super simple! I can't wait to get my Color Me Irresistible designer paper and experiment with that! I hope you get a chance to play with this paper and/or technique! But first be sure to hop on over to see what the fabulous Connie Babbert has created! Thanks for stopping by!

CCMC 317

Good morning everyone! It's time for another challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary team! This week we have a super fun sketch to work with!

I have to admit that all those different strips kind of threw me off. I knew washi tape would be great and even strips of dsp but could I make it look good? So I went with a stamp...

I love the Dotty Angles stamps! I had used the dots but not the angles and I thought this would work! I paired it with another great stamp set, Pictogram Punches and I really like how this turned out!

  • Card base is Bermuda Bay
  • Stamp the angles image from Dotty Angles onto the card base using Bermuda Bay ink
  • Use the circle framelits to cut a circle from Whisper White and stamp the vase and stems image from Pictogram Punches onto the circle using Mossy Meadow ink
  • Stamp the vase and stems image again onto a piece of Whisper White using Calypso Coral ink and cut out just the vase then adhere the vase to the circle over the Mossy Meadow one
  • Adhere the stamped circle to a starburst cut from Calypso Coral using the Starburst framelits and then adhere to card with dimensionals
  • Stamp the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes onto a strip of Whisper White using Bermuda Bay ink and flag both ends then adhere to card
  • Punch three flowers from Daffodil Delight using the itty bitty accents punch pack and adhere to card
  • Add three Bermuda Bay candy dots to the flower centers
Stop by the Create with Connie and Mary site to see all the wonderful creations! So many great ideas! I look forward to seeing yours!!

Angled Sunflower

Good morning, Friends! It's Friday! Pat's brother and his family are in the area and we will be spending time with them this weekend as we don't get to see them but once a year. His sister will also be there so it will be good to see the family. Nick also has another doctor's appointment today. We also need to go school supply shopping one of these days. But I think I can do that next week.

Today's card was inspired by another sunflower card I saw. I didn't have the exact same supplies but I thought I could do with what I have and I so super like this one! I just love sunflowers anyway so this was right up my alley!! And the Dotty Angles stamp set really helped bring some texture to it!

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • On a piece of Crumb Cake stamp the sentiment from Really Good Greetings in Early Espresso then adhere to card base with dimensionals
  • Punch the flower part from Crushed Curry using the 2 3/8" scallop circle punch and then use paper snips to clip each petal
  • Punch a circle from Early Espresso using the 1 3/8" circle punch
  • Stamp the triangles image from Dotty Angles onto the circle using Early Espresso ink and adhere to flower center
  • Punch the leaves from Mossy Meadow using the extra large oval punch and the large oval punch
  • Stamp the angles image onto the leaves using Mossy Meadow ink
  • Use the Simply Scored tool to score a line down the middle of each leaf and fold slightly
  • Adhere the leaves to the Crumb Cake panel using glue dots in the center of the leaves (so they will fold up a bit)
  • Adhere flower part to panel using dimensionals
  • Tie some linen thread through a Basic Metal button and adhere to card
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Armadillo Friend

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is going super! Mine seems to be going but I have nothing to show for it - lol! I need to get myself into gear! I hurt my arm pretty badly while I was gone and it has made it hard to do some things. And I am slow at others. It's not healing as fast as I would like it to so I don't seem to have the motivation to do anything. But as this is my last card in the "pile" for my blog, I had better at least give it a try! I do hope it won't bother me to badly while I am stamping. I guess I had better let the doctor check it out to make sure it will heal up. Ugh!

Today's card is one of my favorites! I just love these little critters from the Little Buddy Birthday set!

  • Card base is Rich Razzleberry
  • On the left hand side of the card base, stamp the dots from Dotty Angles using Rich Razzleberry ink
  • Adhere a piece of Soft Sky to the card base
  • Make a tag from Whisper White card stock and scallop the bottom of it with the scallop edge border punch
  • Stamp the greeting from Little Buddy Birthday onto the tag with Tuxedo Black Momento ink
  • Tie a piece of Mossy Meadow stitched satin ribbon through the tag
  • Stamp the armadillo onto a piece of Whisper White using Tuxedo Black Momento ink and color him in with Old Olive blendabilities and Blushing Bride (for his nose) then cut out
  • Before adhering the pieces onto the card, stamp the balloon onto the Soft Sky panel using Soft Sky ink
  • Adhere the armadillo to the tag and then adhere elements to card with dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Dotty Birthday

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! I get my hair colored today! Yay!! I love to lighten it up for summer! I am making progress on all my stamping that I need to get done before next Thursday! Wow!!! I can't believe it's coming up so fast! We have been planning this trip since last August! So much to do!! But I do think it's all under control. As long as I don't have anymore surprises like last week when my car decided to die. Ugh! Thankfully that is getting fixed and while it is an unexpected expense, I am relieved it wasn't any worse than it was.

I had stamp club with some very fun ladies last night! It was fun to get together even though we really missed our friend, Becky. Today's card was one of the club cards from last night. I really like this set! Actually, there are two sets on this card. The dots at the bottom are from a set called Dotty Angles. I think that is going to be a favorite, too! The birthday greeting is from a set called Age Awareness. Again, I think this one will be popular, too! Anyway, both of these sets are photopolymer sets. LOVE them!!! They stamp up really nice and you can place them perfectly! Here are the details:

  • Card base is Sahara Sand
  • Stamp the dots from Dotty Angles in Sahara Sand at the bottom of the card base
  • Make a tag from Whisper White
  • On the tag start by stamping the "birthday" in Island Indigo at the bottom of the tag and then stamp the "happy" above that (makes it easier) then stamp just the bottom part of the balloon using Tangelo Twist
  • Stamp the balloon again onto another piece of Whisper White and cut out the balloon part (not the string) and adhere to the tag (you will just adhere the bottom part of the balloon to the tag - the rest hangs off)
  • Tie a piece of Island Indigo 1/4" cotton ribbon through the hole of the tag
  • Punch a piece of Tangelo Twist card stock using the dotted ribbon scallop punch and adhere to bottom of tag
  • Adhere tag to card with dimensionals
There you have it! Be sure to check out the early bird savings on the Create with Connie and Mary Summer Collection! We will be starting soon! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!
