Washi Flower Shop

Good morning, Friends! It was really hard to get up this morning! I'm so glad that we are on the downhill side to the weekend! I really need to focus today and get some stamping done. I did a little yesterday but lost motivation. Can't let that happen today! I tried a new workout yesterday and now I am really sore so maybe I will let my body rest by doing some stamping - lol!

For today's card I wanted to use some of the new washi tape. I got it recently and haven't used it much. I also used last week's colors from Color Throwdown.

  • Stamp the splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge onto the card base with gold ink
  • Adhere two strips of the Watercolor Wonder washi tape vertically and two horizontally

  • Adhere third flower to card with dimensionals
  • Punch three flowers from Daffodil Delight using the itty bitty shapes punch pack and adhere to flower centers
  • Add three Basic Black candy dots to flower centers
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Flat and Fabulous

Good morning, Friends! I hope your week is off to a fabulous start! It's been hard having to get up early after having spring break! I do love having the routine and having the house back to myself again, though! Seems like I can get a lot more done! March Madness was a lot of fun this year! And last night's game was really exciting! I am looking forward to seeing the Women's final game, too!

Today's card was one that I did for a swap I was in recently. It was the Control Freaks swap and the theme was Flat and Fabulous. Our hostess wanted cards that could be mailed without extra postage but still have the "wow" factor. And this is the card that I came up with!

  • Flag one end of a small strip of Crisp Cantaloupe and adhere to card
  • Punch a circle from Whisper White using the 2 1/2" circle punch

Grunge Hello

Good Sunday morning, Friends! I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend! We finally made it to Denver with no problems. We checked into our hotel and made our way to the field. When we got there it was lightning so we all had to wait about 45 minutes before we could even get out of our cars. But then the sky seemed to clear a bit and the game got underway. We played really, really good! But... the score didn't go our way - dang! And what was worse, the weather started getting bad about halftime. The lightning showed back up and then the rain started with about 5 minutes left. I ran back to the car and my husband and son followed after the rain. Boy were they soaked!!! So we have everything sitting out in the hotel room drying for today's game. Seems like it did dry out overnight - thank goodness! So we will see what today brings. Hopefully nice sunny weather and a WIN!!

Today's card was another experiment with the Gorgeous Grunge set. I love this one, too! I have been working so much with fall colors lately that I wanted something different so I came up with Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana! Here are the details:

  • Card base is Whisper White
  • Round the bottom corners with the 1" circle punch
  • Layer of Whisper White with bottom corners rounded with the 1" circle punch
  • On layer stamp the lines image from Gorgeous Grunge repeatedly using Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, and Crisp Cantaloupe inks
  • Adhere stamped panel to card and add a strip of Coastal Cabana to hide the "seam"
  • Stamp greeting from Four You in Strawberry Slush
  • Punch a flower from Crisp Cantaloupe using the Blossom punch, sponge with Crisp Cantaloupe ink and pop up onto card
  • Stamp flower image from Flower Shop using Crisp Cantaloupe ink onto Whisper White, punch out with Pansy punch and pop up onto card
  • Punch flower center from Strawberry Slush using Boho Blossoms punch and adhere to flower center
  • Tie a bow with white baker's twine and adhere to flower center
  • Add large rhinestone to bow
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! Keep checking the CCMC site to see if you're a winner!

Shoebox Club Card 0713

Good morning, Friends! Are you all ready for a great weekend? I hope ours is quiet and relaxing. There is nothing planned so that is looking good! It is supposed to rain today and that would be great as it is really humid around here! Ugh! Our air conditioner just doesn't work at all with the humidity. I got a lot of laundry done yesterday so I can focus on stamping today - I hope!! Yesterday I finally got my molds for the Simply Pressed Clay that Stampin' Up! sells! I was so excited to give it a try and spent most of the afternoon making buttons and blossoms! It was so much fun! Now I have them ready for a project whenever I might want to use one! Can't wait to show you all!

Today's card was a total copy of Connie Babbert. She did her card for this week's Create with Connie and Mary challenge and I just loved everything about it! So I decided to use it for the monthly shoebox club that I am in. And I think those ladies loved it, too! I did have to substitute a few things but it is pretty much a copy! Here are the card details:

  • Cut two pieces of Pear Pizzazz card stock using the Oval Accent die
  • Run one of those pieces through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots TIEF and score the other towards the top
  • Put Sticky Strip above the scored line and adhere to embossed piece then use paper trimmer to trim a little off the bottom so that the card will stand
  • Us Oval framelits to cut an oval from Whisper White
  • Stamp greeting from Four You in Melon Mambo onto oval and adhere to card
  • Stamp flower image from Flower Shop in Daffodil Delight two times onto Whisper White and punch out with Pansy punch
  • Pop one flower up onto card
  • Punch flower from Melon Mambo using Blossom punch and pop up onto card
  • Pop other yellow flower onto the blossom punch
  • Punch two flower centers from Gingham Garden designer paper using itty bitty punch pack, adhere to flower centers and add rhinestones
  • Cut two strips of Gingham Garden designer paper and flag the ends
  • Tuck these behind the flowers
There you have it! Pretty simple and oh so cute! Thanks, Connie! And thank you for stopping by! Have a fantastic day!

Freshly Made 91

Good morning, Friends! I hope you all had a great weekend! Yesterday was very nice for me! I did manage to get a few cards made and a swap finished up ready to mail. Seemed like it took me a while to get my cards made. My mojo wasn't coming together as quickly as I would have liked. And it sounds like my guys had a great time fishing! They even caught a few! Now here we are at another Monday and it's time to get some things done around the house. More laundry! Ugh!!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made. I ended up turning it on it's side. And I like how it turned out! It seems like when the new In Colors come out that the other colors get a little neglected. So I found a color combination using Raspberry Ripple. Here are the card details:

  • Card base is Crumb Cake
  • Layer of Crumb Cake that has splotches stamped from Gorgeous Grunge in Crumb Cake and then sponged with Crumb Cake
  • Punch a strip of Raspberry Ripple with the scallop edge border punch and adhere to back of layer
  • Cut leaves from Old Olive using Little Leaves sizzlet
  • Stamp flower from Flower Shop in Raspberry Ripple onto Whisper White and punch out with Pansy punch
  • Adhere leaves to back of flower and pop up onto layer
  • Stamp sentiment from Petite Pairs in Raspberry Ripple onto layer and then pop layer up onto card
  • Punch a flower from Pink Pirouette with Boho Blossoms punch, adhere to flower center and add a rhinestone
  • Fold a length of Pink Pirouette taffeta ribbon in half, thread white baker's twine through a vintage faceted button and around the ribbon and tie a bow
  • Trim ribbon to desired length and adhere to card
And there you have it! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Flower Shop, Petite Pairs, Gorgeous Grunge; Paper- Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Raspberry Ripple, Pink Pirouette; Ink- Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple; Accessories- Pink Pirouette taffeta ribbon, white baker's twine, vintage faceted button, Boho Blossoms punch, Pansy punch, Little Leaves sizzlet, scallop edge border punch, rhinestone, sponge, dimensionals

Fab Friday 19

Good morning, Friends! Wow! Another Monday has rolled around! I want to shout out a "Happy Birthday" to my good friend, Becky!! She and I will be heading out to Montrose to check out the quilt shop later this morning. Should be a fun adventure! I haven't had a chance to get there yet so this will be new for me! I hope we find something fun and exciting - lol!

Today's card was inspired by last week's sketch at Fab Friday. It is definitely a fun one so I don't know why it took me so long to do something with it! Anyway, I took my colors from the Color Coach. I thought they were really pretty! Sahara Sand, Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party - love it!! I ran a piece of Wisteria Wonder through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain TIEF and then adhered it to a card base of Sahara Sand. Then I punched a circle from Pool Party with the 2 1/2" circle punch. I don't even know why I did this, because you can't even see it, but I added some splotches (stamp from Gorgeous Grunge) onto the circle by using Pool Party ink (stamping off first). I just thought it needed it and in real life you can see them - lol! Then I sponged the edges of the circle with Pool Party ink. The circle is popped up onto the card. Then I stamped the flower from Flower Shop in Wisteria Wonder onto Whisper White and punched it out with the Pansy punch. This is popped up onto the card. I stamped the greeting from Four You in Sahara Sand onto a strip of Sahara Sand and flagged one end. This is popped up onto the card, too. Finally, I added a vintage faceted button with some white baker's twine tied in it. Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Flower Shop, Four You, Gorgeous Grunge; Paper- Sahara Sand, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White; Ink- Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party, Sahara Sand; Accessories- Woodgrain TIEF, 2 1/2" circle punch, Pansy punch, vintage faceted button, white baker's twine, sponge, dimensionals

CAS(E) This Sketch 30

Good morning, Friends! I have been wanting to post since Sunday but my phone (which is what I use to take all my pictures) and my computer would not talk to each other. I was having trouble downloading my pictures onto my computer. So I need to retake some pictures and try again. No big deal but that's why I was MIA for a couple of days. Yesterday really warmed up! Oh my!! But it is summer so I guess we had better get used to it! Today is more of the same but I get to go stitch at Laura's today and I am so excited! I love to spend time with the ladies there and chat and work on projects! Too fun!!

Today's card was inspired by the sketch from last week at CAS(E) This Sketch. I stamped the greeting from Four You in Island Indigo onto a strip of Whisper White. Behind this strip I adhered three pieces of Gingham Garden designer paper that were flagged at the bottom. This is then adhered to a piece of Whisper White that was embossed with the Woodgrain TIEF. This panel is popped up onto a card base of Whisper White. I stamped the flower image from Flower Shop in Daffodil Delight onto a piece of Whisper White and punched it out with the Pansy punch I added two leaves that I punched from Pear Pizzazz using the 1 1/4" circle punch. The brad is from the discontinued In Colors (it was the only thing I had for my flower center). The flower is then popped up onto the card. Clean and simple! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Flower Shop, Four You; Paper- Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Gingham Garden designer paper; Ink- Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight; Accessories- Pansy Punch, Woodgrain TIEF, 1 1/4" circle punch, dimensionals
