Birthday Elegance

Good morning, Friends! Well we went from a dark and dreary day yesterday to a bright and sunny day today! I am starting to get a little worried that we won't be seeing any snow around here this winter. And it hasn't been as cold as in years past, either. Not complaining, so much, but we do need the moisture. Still a lot of winter left. We will have to see what happens!

Today's card was inspired by a card I saw in an older PaperCrafts magazine. A good friend of mine had a birthday last week and I sent her this card. Of course it was late (and she may not have gotten it yet). Happy Birthday, Kim! I liked the idea of using the new framelits in a different way. I took a piece of the new Everyday Enchantment designer paper and ran it through the Big Shot with one of the labels framelits dies. Then I took a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and stamped the greeting from Elementary Elegance in Poppy Parade. I put some dimensionals on the back of my patterned piece (around the opening) and centered my greeting through the window. Then I wrapped some Very Vanilla seam binding ribbon around this before popping the whole thing up on my card base of Poppy Parade. Then I added some pearls around the sides of the frame. The last thing I did was to stamp a butterfly in Poppy Parade on Very Vanilla and cut it out. It is attached with a glue dot and the wings are gently bent up. A very simple card! But I do love how it shows off the beautiful paper! Thanks for stopping by and have a super day! Go Broncos!!
