Define Your Life

Good Sunday morning everyone! I hope your weekend is going great! My husband left yesterday to go to the starting place of his week long bike ride. He and a few friends are doing an organized state wide bike ride called Ride The Rockies. He has done this before but he took a couple of years off and decided he would like to try it again this year. The ride actually starts today. I am not sure exactly how many miles they ride today but it takes them most of the day. He will be back Friday night. So, it is just me and our son for the week. I do hope they have some decent weather.

Today's card is the third one that I did for stamp club. It is a pretty simple card but it sure packs a punch. I really liked how it turned out. Not a whole lot to say about it. I think that this layout could be used several times over with different images. So don't be surprised if you see it again! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

CPS Sketch 117

Good morning! Well, there is a little bit of the morning left. My son had a friend sleep over last night. They were up till 2:30 playing video games! Not by the choice of their parents. So, I am a little slow and sluggish this morning. And then we have an end of the season baseball party at noon. Yeah, I feel a nap coming on!!

Today's card layout comes from a CPS sketch. I used this sketch for this card. I also did this card for my stamp club on Monday. They all seemed to like it a lot! I really liked how it turned out. And it is pretty simple! The hardest part was coloring the tree with the markers. But I think it would look nice with just one color. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Crushed Curry Wheat

Good Friday morning everyone! I think that the sun actually might shine a little bit today! It's still so amazing to me that our temperatures haven't gotten above 85!!! I think I wore a jacket most of yesterday! It did start to rain at our game last night but then it stopped. Yeah, we lost again but they did play much better. Now we wait to see who made All-Stars. I know that Nick really wants to but he is still young. We will see. There will be two teams and so it is possible but I don't want to get his hopes up.

Today's card is from an old Splitcoast sketch. Since I am originally from Kansas, I have seen a lot of wheat! At first I was a little upset that this stamp of wheat was bent in one direction. However, if you have ever driven through Kansas, then you know that most of the wheat and the trees are bent in one direction because of the wind! So, this pretty much fits the bill!! Anyway, this card features new items. The wheat is from the Autumn Days stamp set and the greeting is from the Kind & Caring Thoughts stamp set. Colors here are the new In Colors - Crushed Curry and Soft Suede. And of course the wonderful new Soft Suede polka dot grosgrain! I LOVE that new polka dotted ribbon!! Well, have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Happiest Birthday

Hello Friends! Another week is quickly coming to a close. Wow! I hope that your day will be everything you want it to be! I am going to my friend, Emily's house to spend some time stamping. Our sons have a great time together (they like to get into all sorts of mischief)! I am looking forward to doing some more creating. By the way, I have opened an Etsy shop! If you like my cards you can now purchase them! I spent quite a bit of time yesterday getting it ready and I only have about 5 posted up there but I will eventually have them all up and ready for selling. I just have so many cards and I am trying something new. So be sure to keep checking back to see what is up for sale. And tell your friends! I am also going to work on getting some of my discontinued stamp sets up on ebay. I haven't gotten that far yet but I am working on it! I need to get rid of stuff!!

Today's card layout comes from the Close To My Heart catalog. I saw this layout and thought that I could re-create it with Stampin' Up! supplies. We also did this card in my stamp club for this month. Super, super easy and so many possibilities! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Stamping 411 Sketch

Good morning! We are half way through the week! Yea! I have to say that summer vacation is just going great! The unusual thing is that I haven't had to turn on the air conditioner for a few weeks! But I am not going to complain. However, it does seem a little on the cool side to go swimming. I know my son would love to but I don't want to get that cold! Only one more baseball game (tomorrow). Then a little down time from sports.

Well, it's another sketch! I found this blog that has just started doing sketch challenges and decided to play along with this sketch. You know me and sketches... Love them!! This is my version. You just can't go wrong with this set, Thoughts & Prayers. Love the tree! Anyway, it's pretty simple. But that's they way I like them! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Bermuda Butterfly

Good morning Friends! I hope your week is going the way you want! I feel like my summer is already going way too fast. I am doing my best to enjoy each day!! I am reading some good books (something I really don't get to do during the school year) and I am stamping as much as possible! But then there is laundry that gets in the way. I had a GREAT time with my club ladies last night! Jeannie made the most awesome chocolate cake - yum!!! My husband and son enjoyed the leftovers!! Can't wait until next time!

For today's card I copied this card from Splitcoast. When I first saw it I fell in love with the simple layout. Had to tweak it to fit what I had on hand but this is my version. I used my Scor-Pal to make the 'frame' around the card. Anyway, very easy! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

You're On My Mind

Good Monday morning everyone! I hope that your week is starting off just the way you want it to! I have just signed up to be a part of a blog tour that will be coming up in July! I am really excited about that! I feel like I am doing something totally out of my box here but I think it will be a lot of fun. I have my club tonight and I can't wait to see them all again! I always have so much fun when we get together.

Today's card is from a sketch but I really can't remember where I got it. I did this card a while ago, so it is no surprise that I can't remember. As I look through my sketch pads I don't see anything helping me with my memory. Sorry. It does look like an old Splitcoast sketch but I can't be totally sure about that. The one thing I DO remember is the idea of the embossing on designer paper and then sponging. I had gotten a card with this idea from a swap a while back and always wanted to try it. I took the Upsy Daisy stamp and embossed it on Urban Garden designer paper. Then I took a sponge and some Baja Breeze ink and just sponged around the embossed area. I do like the way it turned out. A hint of Kiwi Kiss photo corners finishes it off! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

I'm A Dork!!

I apologize! I did not know that I posted the same card twice! Yikes!! I have been making so many cards (some with current product and some with new product). I was trying to get myself organized for my workshop tomorrow night by sorting out the current from the new. And I was trying to figure out what cards still need to get posted. That's when I saw that I had posted the same card twice. So, here is another card done with the same stamp set just a different layout and colors. I really can't remember if this came from a sketch or what. Anyway, enjoy! Thanks for being patient!

All This...

Good Sunday morning! I hope your weekend is going just the way you want! I had a hard time sleeping in this morning - bummer. I was up late last night, too. But I am trying to fight a migraine before it gets too bad. May need a nap soon. Hope I can find time to stamp. And there is always the laundry to do. And baseball practice. Hmmm...
Today's card is one that I saw on Ashley Newell's blog. I really like her simple designs. On this particular day I was feeling a little lazy so I found this card to copy. Of course I had to use different paper and colors and stamps but the layout is pretty much the same. Well, that's my story! Stay tuned as I do have more new stuff to show you using new colors and stamps! Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of the weekend!

More New Stuff!

Good morning Friends! It looks to be another beautiful day here in Western Colorado! Got a baseball game today and then I need to catch up on the laundry again. Otherwise, I plan to stamp!!

Today's card is one I found on Lori Craig's blog. Actually the layout is the only thing that's the same. However, the colors she used are pretty close to these. These colors are more of Stampin' Up!'s new In Colors! This card is bright and cheery. I used a new level 3 hostess set, Kind & Caring Thoughts. I LOVE this set! The images and words are just beautiful! The colors are Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, and Crushed Curry. A pretty simple card! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

Card Showdown

Good morning everyone! It's Friday! Are you ready for a great weekend?

I am doing something a little 'out of the box' for me. I am entering the 1st Annual 2 Sketches 4 You Ultimate Card Showdown. You all know how much I love a good sketch and when I saw this one, I just couldn't pass it up! I don't know if I will be selected but it is still fun to play along! Check it out and play along.

Now that you know what I am doing, I will tell you a little bit about this card. What you are seeing are some brand new products from Stampin' Up! I used a new set Autumn Days and two of the six new In Colors! So much fun! These were just some of the items that demonstrators could order from Stampin' Up!'s sneak peek selections. I am looking forward to showing you more sneak peek creations! Stay tuned! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Plaid Kraft

Good morning, Friends! My vacation is going quite nicely! I got to stamp most of the day yesterday and found some great sketches to use! I did about four loads of laundry. The pest control guy came. The refrigerator repair man came. Then we had a baseball game and then ate out with some friends. So, it was quite a busy day but I did get my stamping in. I know that I said that I was going to use some of the great layouts from the catalog and I still will. Oh so much to do!!

So today's card came from a sketch that I found while 'blurfing' yesterday. Very simple and super easy! Not much to explain about it. The only thing I think I would do different is to cut the Kraft plaid panel a little shorter. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

To The Nines

Good morning everyone! I hope your week is going great. We had quite the 'typhoon' come through last night! We weren't home at the time but it must have rained like nothing I have ever seen. Our barnyard is quite flooded this morning! I plan to have quite the relaxing day today! I have been mulling over the new catalog and making my lists of what I think I 'need' first! I am sure that it will get modified as time goes on. The catalog is quite beautiful and has some really awesome samples in it! So part of my plan today is to copy some of those samples using what I have on hand. I can't wait for you all to see it! If you want your own copy please let me know.

I was feeling lazy this morning so I found a card to copy. Ashley Newell has really beautiful cards and I found this one to copy. Of course mine is different but I really liked the basic layout and overall design. I plan to use that one more often! Well, I guess I had better get the laundry started! Thanks for stopping by!

Sad Day...

Good morning all! I hope your week is going good for you. Today is a sad day for us. We had to say goodbye to grandparents. I know I always hate to say goodbye but to see your child struggle with it really makes it hard. Nick will survive and so will we. We will be seeing them next month so that helps a little. But I don't want to think about that because I plan to enjoy each day of my summer vacation!!
Today's card is one that I know I have used over and over. But it is such a versatile layout! I actually wanted to use different stamps but I needed to get a card up. So, I will be playing around later with some other ideas. I am so excited, though! My new goodies come today!! Thanks for stopping by.

Flower Layers

Good early morning to you all! I can't believe I am up this early either. My husband and I were awakened by our dogs early this morning. They must have seen something because they are penned up. But something out in the field must have gotten attacked by another animal because it made this awful cry. It did eventually stop but it sounded just horrible! So we tried to go back to bed but then I remembered that I could place my order for new sneak peek items from the new catalog today!! Including the new In Colors! So I got up and came down to my computer and placed my order! I pampered myself and had my order next day aired so I should be getting it tomorrow!!! And the best part is that the NEW catalog should be in that order as well so I will be able to peek at that!!! I can't wait!! I have to wait with everyone else to order out of it until July 1 but that will give me time to look through it real good.

Today's card is another one of my copies from Dawn McVey. I actually experimented with her design because I didn't have any of the items she used except the Top Note die. I do love the layout, though. It is a quick and easy card to put together. To make the flower layers look a little more defined, I sponged the edges and then curled them toward the center. Thanks for stopping by!
