Smoky Hex

Good morning, Friends! It's another fabulous and hot day here! Lots of fires being reported in our state of Colorado. I just recently heard about one that is on our side of the mountains (the Western Slope). Sure hope we get the much needed rain soon! Nick spent the night with a friend last night so I will pick him up today and then we need to do a little Father's Day shopping!

Today's card uses some new product that I had fun experimenting with. I wanted to see how easy it was to line up the stamps without a stamp-a-ma-jig. And I managed quite nicely! First I adhered a piece of Basic Black to card base of Smoky Slate. Then I used the hexagon punch to punch out the shape from a piece of Smoky Slate. I sponged the inside edges of the punched shape. Then I stamped the outline hexagon image from Six-Sided Sampler a few times around the punched shape in Smoky Slate. I also stamped it onto another scrap piece of Smoky Slate. I figured out where the scrap piece would go and adhered that to the Basic Black. Then I tied some 1/8" Basic Black ribbon around the panel and popped it up onto the card. I stamped the greeting in black StazOn and added a flower that was punched from Strawberry Slush with the itty bitty shapes punch pack. This is adhered to the card and a rhinestone added. Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

Card Recipe: Stamps- Six-Sided Sampler; Paper- Smoky Slate, Basic Black, Strawberry Slush; Ink- black StazOn, Smoky Slate; Accessories- 1/8" Basic Black ribbon, hexagon punch, itty bitty shapes punch pack, rhinestone, sponge, dimensionals
