CCMC 171

Good morning everyone! I can't believe that it is time for another great challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! Boy! The week just flew by! This week Connie and Mary are challenging us with color! Bravo Burgundy, River Rock and Baja Breeze are the challenge colors!
And here is my creation!

The colors are really lovely but were a little more difficult for me to work with. I used a sketch from CPS. I really liked that the sketch was very simple. I started with a card base of River Rock and then added a piece of Bravo Burgundy. Then I added a piece of textured River Rock with a piece of Baja Breeze narrow taffeta ribbon tied around it. To create the arch of pearls, I punched a scrap piece of paper with the 2 1/2" circle punch and laid it on the card. I traced lightly with a pencil where I wanted the pearls to go. Then I put the pearls on. I ran a piece of River Rock through the Big Shot using the Designer Frames embossing folder. I cut around it and sponged the edges with River Rock. I cut another piece of river Rock to fit inside the frame and stamped a greeting from Friendly Phrases in Bravo Burgundy and sponged around the edges with River Rock. Before gluing it inside the frame I added a piece of Baja Breeze that is just 1/16" bigger. The frame is popped up onto the card. Oh, don't forget to erase those light pencil marks!

I encourage you to visit the Create with Connie and Mary site to get more inspiration! Then create your own project and upload it to the site so that we can all take a look! I do hope that you will play along with us this week! Have a super day!

  1. Such a classy card! Simple, but so elegant...it drew my attention right away. Maybe it was the pearls? I'm a sucker for those! Great card, Deb! Great working with you over at CCM!
